Well 2 of them were available this off-season and the best WR who will likely be a first ballot hall of famer just went for.peanuts. I'm tired off hearing about his attitude. The players made it clear they wanted him and they were excited to draft Foster who was a player that no one else was touching because of his issues. I don't buy for a second it was his attitude, this was about money and the York's being cheap.

So either they have some sort of assurance that we will get OBJ or York won't let them make a move that would cost him so much money. Either way we could have a HoF receiver on our roster right now for JG to throw to but instead we we have Bourne, Goodwin and Pettis. Not even a proven #2.

The difference is Julio is a team player and Antonio Brown is a d*ckhead. Shanahan never said he would go out and get a d*ckhead.

Richard Sherman was a ****head too.Hasnt turned out too bad so far

If we don't sign OBJ, Lynch needs to be flogged out of town. What a bum. But he has no problem drafting that bust Foster. It seems with this franchise you can only be a piece of s**t if you play defense. However, if you play offense you need to be a choir boy. FKn clowns. No wonder offensively we have stunk it up for decades.

OBJ is not a FA so we cannot sign him.
You can always rely on a meltdown on this site after something big like this goes down. I would have gladly taken AB on this team. Character concerns are usually overblown(though AB definitely hasn't looked great lately); and that dude could ball! We need talent like that on this team! BUT, we need more talent at many positions! The Raiders got away with two late round picks cause they and the Steelers also knew that they would have to pay him a s**t ton of money. Anybody who thought KS and JL were gonna pay that much for a receiver, no matter how talented, is delusional. KS has shown the ability to scheme so I'm sure he'd rather grab younger and cheaper talent in the draft and make them work. Who knows? Maybe one they draft this year could turn into the next generational type talent. And that can be done without losing draft picks that can feel other holes in this team.

Most people think this. It was already evident from the first 3 games.

That being said, he shouldn't have scrambled. If these bum receivers don't get open, unfortunately, you just have to take the sack and deal with it.

Hahaha oh boy. Now there's a reach.

It doesn't take much to play the "what if" game. Heck, if Jimmy hadn't drank that gatorade right before that series, he might have ran out of energy and decided to run out of bounds rather than cut up field and he would still have his ACL!! Lets ban sports drinks and water on the sideline!

We are 68 million under the cap. I go to games every year, my brothers have season tickets and Jed is hoarding money. What is the excuse 4 not to taking some risks? You think you're going to win a super bowl with Goodwin and pink hair as your wide receivers? We will not. Save me the character b******t, Big Ben still having sex with passed out girls in bar restrooms while his goons watch?

you do realize Jed has to spend like 89% of that cash or it goes to the NFLPA he's not hoarding money.

Oakland was the only team cool with giving up draft picks and $50 million for a 32 yr old WR they went on tv and said he doesn't care if he plays football and had no problem throwing his coach and QB under the bus (whether they deserve it or not).

Srop acting like trading for AB was the only move we can do to get better.

I am so HAPPY the DIVA that is Antonio Brown isn't coming to the 49ers. Kudos to both Lynch and Shanny for their focus on building through the draft.

At the same time, I do feel for fans of the Raiders. Taking on head cases like AB once worked wonders under the old Al Davis regime, but those days are long gone.

Walsh didn't have to worry about a cap either...spend as much money as you can to get talent didn't matter back then....Different time

I'll also bet money Walsh wasn't gonna get AB who's bacially said he doesn't give a f**k if he plays football or not and had this clown show going on all off season.

guaranteed and a Max value of $54.125M.

Knowing what I do of the Webzone, there will never be a majority concensus with regard to how our
FO did or did not handle the situation regarding the player formally known as AB. I'm in the camp of
"I'm glad they didn't pull-the-trigger", despite his repeated Tweets and Instagram posts expressing a
desire to play for the Red & Gold.

I'm also of the mindset that his extracurricular antics -- even when asked and advised by Colbert to
cease with -- were a ploy used to [somewhat] control the procedings while speeding his departure
from Pittsburgh … although I have no definitive proof of said theory.

To Chronicle:
  • Antonio Tavaris Brown, became AB
  • moved on from AB or AB84, and morphed into Mister Big Chest …
  • and per a recent Tweet, has now adopted the moniker "Mister Big Checks"

Some are reporting/writing that "The Saga" is over - could be, but I don't think so … as I'm inclined
to think it either continues, or in some way(s), it's just about to really begin.

The 2019/2020 season, will be interesting for both Bay Area teams.

Gotta say, this is an excellent, well-thought post. I'm definitely in the same camp.

A diva, a snitch, a whiner and a d******d... he went to the right team.

AB, Carr and Chucky should have lots of fun together in a love/hate relationship

Why does his age keep going up? They don't do anything, they've overpaid for everyone they've brought in so far. There was one guy on the market that you exactly what you were getting, greatness. They'll probably end up spending similar draft capital on a rookie receiver who may be good or he may not, either way they'll never be Antonio Brown. Just don't tell me money is an issue, the money is there. If it was the picks, that's another issue. He has to spend 89% in four years up to 2020.

If JG didn't sign with us, he's still healthy backing up Brady. If JG doesn't go to sleep, he won't have any nightmares. If JG doesn't eat kale, he might have a heart attack. If Jet didn't get hurt, JG doesn't take off running #WhatIfGames ... what if midgets were tall

No, actually there's truth to this. Jimmy G shouldn't be running around scrambling, but that's what gonna happen if they send him in with mediocre pedestrian receivers again.

Or maybe if the oline protected better...

Brady would've thrown the ball away to live another down. JG is more mobile than Brady so he trusted his legs and made the decision on his own. It was an unfortunate injury... he wasn't running for his life, he ran for a first down. His decision.

I agree, we need a number one WR, but I'm glad it isn't AB tho.

Jimmy might be the next Sam Bradford.

Hey I wanted AB as bad as the next guy. Especially for a 3rd and a 5th! This is definitely a miss in my book. However, it's done and now we must move on and look toward free agency. Let's get this defense where it needs to be so we can finally focus on building our offensive playmakers. 2 edge rushers, a safety, and a Cb.
