I read they take a $30 mil cap hit if they release him outright. That drops to $1 mil if they trade him. They gave up a 3rd and 5th for him so they wont recoup that but might be able to get a 5th or 6th because of the headaches he caused.

No, they can release him with only a 1 mil penalty. If he violates his contract with conduct detrimental to the team. Threatening a GM can be seen as that, leaving the team unexcused can be detrimental to the team.

Thank God we did not go after this guy. I would have loved to have had him during the offseason too. I was soooooo wrong. Some guys no matter the talent level aren't worth the headaches.
