This guy went FULL Retard. WTF is wrong with this guy
He has shown classic mental health issues. THAT is what is wrong with him.
For too long society has not recognized that mental health is just as important as physical health. It is still kept in the closet, especially in "manly sports" such as football. Each team should have MH counselors available at all times. There needs to be open communication about how depression and bipolar conditions can be treated and managed. Antonio Bryant's actions are a man crying out for help but not knowing how to get it. Pray he gets it while there is still time.
Selfish , self centered , lack of discipline are not mental issues. More like his character
Those things can also be a manifestation of mental health issues.
The last thing I want to do is make excuses for bad behavior. However, as someone who has seen how mental health issues have impacted some members of my extended family, I can personally attest to the wide swath MH has in behavior issues.
AB had a miserable childhood/upbringing and that too can result in acting out the way he has. In any case, as Brady has said, he needs help.
True .
it's just a little coincidence that he always straightens up when money is low and he wants a job .
That is one of the most frustrating things about MH issues, especially for someone with bipolar. There are times when they can act normal but then snap again without warning when even a trivial thing does not go the way they want.
If you've ever spent any amount of time around people with mental health issues, this is pretty much spot on.
Also, the way mental health treatment works in this country is that it cannot be forced on anyone. A person with true mental health issues has to seek out treatment and accept treatment. This isn't always easy. There are many instances where people with mental health issues believes that everyone around them is positively nuts and THEY are the sane person in the room.
This is how and why mental health issues go untreated much of the time.
As an example of such behavior, a now-deceased member of my extended family was bipolar. In one of his manic phases, he called his wife and told her he was standing on the Golden Gate Bridge and had put it up for sale for $5,000,000. Melvin Belli was his attorney and was handling the details. If the sale fell through he was going to jump.
Between such phases, he managed a rather successful business. When things were going well, he would go off his meds and cycle back through the whole loop again. Very frustrating.
My example is my (first) ex-wife. She was on medication when I married her (mistake), then went off the meds without warning three years into the marriage. That's when the weird stuff began to happen. I discovered she kept a butcher knife under the mattress on her side of the bed to stab at snakes in the night that were not there. One night she woke up screaming, claiming our house was on fire, and that Jimmy Hendrix was playing a guitar on the roof.
It took a few years before I realized that it was the medicated personality that I had fallen in love with. When the true, unmedicated personality emerged, she was a totally different creature. Everything about her, including her personality, just vanished. I had no idea who I was married to.
Someone made the observation that people who are on the outside don't recognize what is really going on. This is so spot on. I tried for the better part of two years to get help, to no avail. After six years, the marriage was over.
