As reported, it's fully guaranteed, at 13.75M per season.

It's 32 guaranteed .

I stand corrected, as it looks as if he'll get the $30M he desired:
"The source said the deal includes $32 million fully guaranteed at
signing, with $22 million coming in the first nine months"

Nice and front loaded. A typical deal we do. Guess they didn't want him that bad
Anyone else think it's hilarious that Colbert was trying to recruit him. Hope someone told him they play the same Position

I am sure we will see reports soon that we "made a late push" and "went hard" for Thomas...
Could be. The Niners also went hard on Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander. It is normal you don't get all of the players you went hard. So, what is your point?
Would have been nice at the right price. What the Ravens paid is not the right price. He's about to turn 30 and has broken his left leg twice in 3 years, there's no telling how that leg will hold up. Besides, our upgraded pass rush will make our DB's look better. It's a huge plus to only have to cover a WR/TE for a couple seconds rather than 10-15
1. I don't but the late push reports. Folks are saying any and everything.

2. I'm happy with the two big signings. Both guys have a good resume, even with the injuries. Both guys have played at high levels. Our linebackers/pass rush sucked for the most part. We addressed both. We aren't nearly done, but we landed two instant starters that would start on most teams in the league.

3. I really , really wish we would've gotten Thomas. I think we have too much faith in Adrian Colbert. Tartt has never been healthy and Ward has never been good. Sure they could address the position in the draft, but I thought they were looking to add a receiver with that 2nd round pick. Perhaps they can move one of their many defensive tackles and get to the middle of the 2nd with their 3rd round pick.

4. Outside of Earl Thomas, there isn't a whole lot left to do in terms of free agency. The difference makers are gone. Everyone left is just a solid starter or a below average guy.
Was I the only one that thought, dear god, don't resign jimmy ward and make this worse.

Understandble frustration on not getting Earl Thomas, but safety has become the RB of D. Low value position were overspending draft picks or $$$ can cripple a team.

This is the only problem I'm not ok with. Signing this scrub. Time to move on

The only way i would be okay with resigning him, 1yr deal. Be healthy, play well, get rewarded. If you dont improve you can be a preseason cut.

I think it depends on the defense a team is running whether free safety is a highly valued position, but in most cases, nowadays with so much passing, I think it's a very valued position. They prevent the big plays and when big plays do happen, they prevent 30 yard gains from being 50 yard gains. A ball hawking FS can discourage an offense from testing the deep portion of the field. A number of safeties got paid well this free agency.
I'd rather tap the draft again. I swore Colbert was a good one. I'm hoping there's still a chance
I guess John Lynch has learned his lesson of acquiring injured players. Trent Baalke has a habit of acquiring injured players which had more often hurt the team rather than helped them. And at his age (Thomas), it just NOT worth the gamble of getting into a bidding war with another team.

John Lynch I feel is at a juncture of having to prove his worth and taking a risk on a "maybe he'll recover" is NOT something he needs at this time.

We'll see how Thomas works out with the Ravens.
