All i know is that when KIttle went down, i believe in the Saints game, Dwelley came in and made 2 solid 3rd and must have 8+ yard catches. Also, he has been a very fine blocker. One question. Why haven't we used him more? Is this a kyle decision, or is it health....what? The kid seems to be a ball snagger plus he can block. Why not make him more of game plan?
Could end up becoming our new FB if Juice leaves in FA. Dwelley is a good athlete, and filled in nicely in the limited time he filled in for Juice at the FB position. I value T. Williams+Verrett+Hyder as more important FA's for us than Juice. Don't get me wrong, I like Juice, but he costs more than double the next highest paid TE, and for the most part he is just a blocking FB most of the time, even though he has shown he can do more, so if that is how Shanahan is gonna keep using him, then I would prefer a MUCH cheaper option like Dwelley this year, but also draft someone in the mid rounds this year to groom to be the future FB.
Glad he's back, a super underrated player.

I like his hands but I disagree on the blocking aspect. I recall many times Ross whiffing on blocks leading to QB sacks.

He also bailed us out in 2019 with a few tds not to mention that 3rd down catch to seal the game vs the cards

Totally agree with Both.

Personally I'd like kyle to draft a power back in place of Juszczyk. A back that may be smaller (maybe in the 225 to 235 pound range) but can run fast enough to run 80% of kyles outside zone, execute 80% of his blocking schemes, and at the same time execute a four minute offense, or gain 3 yards against 8 man fronts in the closing moments of championship games.

It's a good signing. I'm glad to see him have success from watching him down here with University of San Diego Torreros.
I'm pumped to see if Dwelley can show out this year. Every clip I've seen from camp makes me wonder how much 22 and 21 personnel we will implement. It looks like he has improved vastly. The Ravens had a lot of success running the read option/run pass options when they were stacked at TE in 2019.

Dwelley being a viable option in the pass game this year could open some things up and take the heat off of Kittle/Sanu/Sherfield.

Line up double tight, if in man the opposing team usually put their best cover guy on Kittle (ie. Gilmore, Baker) freeing up Dwelley route up a LB or bully a Nickle.
