I'm actually surprised Kyle brought him back. His blocking wasn't very good, from what I remember.

Another JAG.
We already have 18 TE's.
TE: George Kittle; Charlie Woerner, Ross Dwelley, Jordan Matthews & Tanner Hudson

Charlie Woerner seems to have jumped over Dwelley on the depth chart as TE2. Check out their offensive snapcount around week 7+.
Woerner 2021 snapcount:

Dwelley snapcount:

Re-signing Dwelley gives Kyle an "at worst" scenario of the same three TEs from 2021. I don't think the search for TE2 is complete.

Kyle is working up a 4 TE set.

I wouldn't mind a good TE pick in day three of this years draft.

He definitely jumped him last year. Lynch noted how he's grown as a pass catcher too.
That said, would love a more talented pass catcher as Kittle is oft-injured too.
Maybe they have bigger plans for Jennings in that F.

It's not a priority but Kittle does get banged up a lot. When he misses games it changes the offense.

Nice game against the Seahawks: TD catch & 2 Fumble Recoveries - 1 for a TO & 1 saving a TO in the RZ.
FG block looked like a no-win situation.

I like Dwelley. Good consistent player. Not flashy and he is what he is, but its all GOOD.

Saved the TO then blew the block that cost team 7.
His poor blocking is still an issue. Not just on FG's ether.

He had a very good game overall. On the block it looked like he was trying to block 2 guy in 2 different directions. So I'm not sure what his assignment was. But overall he was a lot more good in that game than bad. He was a star here at University of San Diego. He really caught a lot of passes and TD's for USD. I'm happy to see him doing well with us over the years. I watched him many times in College. He was really good. One of the best players on the field always.
