I would hate this move for all the reasons shoot off you would. Impact on roster due to money for now and going forward. Impact on draft. Impact in locker room.

Rodgers is a prima donna who is about as mobile as Brady. Put that being out line. Also what are we giving up. Players? Picks? Just don't like it.

He's underperformed his talent, only winning one SB in 2010 on a perennially strong team. He recently went "into the dark" to plan his future, 90 percent sure he's emerge to retire. Why would anyone think he'd be around more than one year. His beach home in Malibu is calling him. His $59.5m is ridiculous, and unlike Brady, his rapaciousness will Always come before team success. He's still flipping our sideline off in recent years. His play is in decline. The harm will far and away outlast any gain, if there is any gain. He's all our eggs in one basket. He's a dick and a kook, and poster board material for opponents and questionable locker room leader.

John and Kyle have put in excellent work building a Superlative roster while giving ourselves an excellent chance to still get very good quarterback play. Why throw that away without giving it a chance?
is that why we've been in the Rodgers mix for how long now ?

Who said that? How long has it been that we've gone 8-0 with Purdy including two playoff wins, now have a locker room leader, and a starting quarterback, and came oh so close last year, only derailed by a fluke last minute injury?
I'm saying with however you feel about Rodgers, our Org keeps the door open for Rodgers if they ever get a real chance at him.

and with Purdy.. we've been here before in 2017 and now we made it worse this time by going into the next season with our starter out already

I'm asking you how we're keeping the door open. The man is under contract, and we can't say anything about him, other than a generic he's a good player, as we Never criticize any player. He's been given permission to talk to the Jets, but I don't see him here.

In 2017 we felt we needed to make a snap decision because Jimmy was a free agent, while Purdy and Lance will both still be under contract after this year, and Darnold is this season. And it's not a given we're starting this season with our starter out already.

Gonna need to take that up to Tahoe and pick a roulette number. Whaddya like?
Like GB would ever trade him to the Niners. Never, especially since no first round pick this year and next year it's going to be 32nd

how? almost every year we go through this and one of those years caused beef with the Lafluers. They can easily say no to the media saying they want nothing to do with Rodgers, but that is not the case because they are not going to close that door. They don't close any door on upgrades (their motto)

nothing is a given but not knowing whats going to happen at the 2023 QB position is obviously worse then going into 2018. I'm just tired of these wasted years.. and our players will get tired of it too
I hope Rodger's and Green Bay are stuck with each other nothing would make me happier than seeing them both lose out on what they want.

They could have had him for the 3rd overall pick a couple years ago…bunch of dummies. Now they're stuck with one team willing to give them a bunch of nothing. End of the day if you're GB who cares where he goes…he's not gonna be playing for another 5 years or anything.

they aren't winning a SB this yr regardless
Unpopular opinion: If the 49ers do trade for Rodgers, he'll just retire as soon as the trade can't be undone to get back at us for not drafting him.

Honestly I don´t believe it for one second. Rodgers would absolutely try to win the Superbowl to prove that the Niners made a mistake not drafting him. And he would do something Tom Brady never did.
But the reality is that there´s no way Green Bray trade him to the Niners.

His hit this season is just shy of 16, they could feee that up if they REALLY wanted to.

Moving on from lance and adjusting CMCs contract would likely cover that.

But it is 24 and 25 that would be question marks.

Very easily. $$ is the last thing holding anything up.
