Aaron Rodgers, QB, NY Jets

The New York Jets are friggin cursed! I mean, I thought they overpaid as soon as I got word of the trade, but I never expected things to end up the way they did. And with Aaron Rodgers' age (39 going on 40?), this injury might be a career-ender.

Sounds like eveyone is 99% sure its a ruptured Achilles which would put him out 4 to 6 months thats to get back doing "normal" activitie not playing nfl football dude is most likely done for the year.

Don't really care for Rodgers but I did want another team to get in Mahomes way.

It could be that astroturf surface they play on. That stuff is so hard, it's like playing on rubberized concrete. That stuff should be outlawed. 49ers play on a astroturf surface in this next rams game. I am dreading the injury 🪲🐜 that might happen to bite *both* teams this weekend.

I don't know what type of surface they have in LA. It's a newer field so hopefully it's a better artificial surface than NY has. I was watching a college game on Saturday and the commentators said the new field they installed felt and looked like real grass. I don't know what kind it was. Currently the NFL has 18 artificial turf fields of various types.

Try 2 years depending on severity. He's done. Not the greatest way to go out

Real grass has a certain give to it, and the earth underneath it, has a certain give to it also. Hard to really replicate those things on an artificial surface. There is some new technology, for sure, and the surface's are getting closer to real grass, but with 18 (as you said) stadiums with turf, it's not of uniform technology or quality either. I"m betting the Jets surface may be one of the older tech artificial surfaces out there.

I would argue that non uniformity alone adds stress to the body. Because you muscles and tendons don't have consistency to react and learn on etc so it can be different every week. With todays technology and the fact every single franchise is worth a literal fortune there is zero reason not to have the best grass ever.

Doubt it'd be 2 years especially with all the doctors the Jets and Aaron Rodgers can afford. Severity is a real thing though. Hyper extended my elbow doctor said 6-8 weeks took almost a whole year of physical therapy to get back to normal.
It's official. Achilles. He's done.

He's probably permanently done. That's a lot of rehab for a guy who's turning 40.
