I think Teddy Bridgewater good for the Jets, but don't think any aspiring playoff team like the Lions gonna trade away their backup qb due to injury possibility

It could be that astroturf surface they play on. That stuff is so hard, it's like playing on rubberized concrete. That stuff should be outlawed. 49ers play on a astroturf surface in this next rams game. I am dreading the injury 🪲🐜 that might happen to bite *both* teams this weekend.
I don't know what type of surface they have in LA. It's a newer field so hopefully it's a better artificial surface than NY has. I was watching a college game on Saturday and the commentators said the new field they installed felt and looked like real grass. I don't know what kind it was. Currently the NFL has 18 artificial turf fields of various types.
Real grass has a certain give to it, and the earth underneath it, has a certain give to it also. Hard to really replicate those things on an artificial surface. There is some new technology, for sure, and the surface's are getting closer to real grass, but with 18 (as you said) stadiums with turf, it's not of uniform technology or quality either. I"m betting the Jets surface may be one of the older tech artificial surfaces out there.
I would argue that non uniformity alone adds stress to the body. Because you muscles and tendons don't have consistency to react and learn on etc so it can be different every week. With todays technology and the fact every single franchise is worth a literal fortune there is zero reason not to have the best grass ever.
Well said, the NFL needs to step in and make all teams have grass or if turf is needed NFL can force them to install what they want not what the teams want.

Shannon Sharpe through out Tom Brady's name this morning. If I were Jets I'd explore that option.

Belichick would lose his damn mind if that happened.

I too reached out to the Jets this morning to let them know that my services are available and my arm is well rested.

Cant believe Tom would want to come out of retirement to play behind that offensive line. Who knows with Brady though.

"The NFL" is the owners and too many of them are cheap jack wagons. They are switching several of the stadiums up to real grass for the World Cup so it clearly can be done, they just don't want to.
Imagine if the players had a union that wasn't complete b******t. This would have been a crucial issue to address in collective bargaining, maybe even go on strike over.

Field fairy players in Europe have more pull on NFL stadiums than football players.

I can't imagine that real grass is that expensive to maintain, especially when you look at the prices of turf these days.

Which would be reason enough for Tom to give the Jets a DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECK! Buuuut I still don't see it happening.

Yeah the tackles are rough and it's a reason I wasn't buying NYJ this year, the D does look legit, and Hall was moving much better than I expected off the injury.
Wilson can't see the field. He threw it to a LB right between the numbers. Everything he does is not in rhythm, the play calls for the ball to be out, and he's holding it cuz he doesn't see it well. Then he has to start running around like a chicken without his head, and every play turns to a scramble drill. It's hard to watch QB play.

It's not just the non uniformity, but how do trainers and shoe companies account for how 'sticky' the surface is?
This is the stadium that Bosa and Solly went down during the same quarter. Then was it the week later Saquon tears his ACL on the same grass. There were a few articles on how much traction that grass has or had and that worked on it.
As others have said with real grass if you have some moisture on it, it will give. If you have a 300lb lineman tugging down a 220lb QB and their combined force (F=MxA) translated down to the few cleats between the ACL (or Achilles) and the ground, the clay below the grass compresses and gives. On the carpet blades even with rubber infill it just can't do it from my observation.
Running and walking on sport fields watching kids games it's at times noticeably grippy and hot as a mofo.
NFL owners need to ban it and stop using players as test subjects. I'm glad we've done the right thing, and we remember when Harbs took the team off the fields when he thought even the real sod was crappy.

Zach Wilson definitely plays like a young Wish.com version of Russel Wilson.

In the grand scheme of things, it's not. But its cheaper to have turf when switching events, going from football games to concerts...etc. in this case the Jets owner screwed himself over because a Jets team making a playoff run with Rodgers at QB was going to be an a massive cash draw.
