You gotta believe LaFleur wants to run the Shanahan/McVay offense (everything building off the outside-zone). We'll see if Aaron likes handing the ball off and throwing between 25-30 passes a game.
Starting to remind me of Marino's final years with Jimmy Johnson. They clashed a lot.

Niners snatched their soul easily two times last year.
Its inexcusable for them to flat out not try. Look what the Saints have been doing to load up to make the most of the final years that Brees has. The Packers have about 2-3 years left with Rodgers and are basically laying down and saying "its cool, we'll get em in 3 years." They could have added numerous weapons to build up that offense.
Imagine if instead of Love, Dillion and Deguara they had taken Michael Pittman, Antonio Gibson, Devin Asiasi and Antonio Gandy-Golden?
Now instead of pissing off your franchise QB, you've surrounded him with explosive weapons. With Davante Adams, Pittman, Gibson, Asiasi and the rest, they've suddenly got enough offensive firepower to hang with pretty much anyone in the league.

They must be really high on Jordan Love. Some of that may be due to the Mahomes factor. Mahomes is taking the league by storm, and Love's tape is filled with "omg" type throws. Love's arm is ridiculous

I think he's got more in common with guys like EJ Manuel and Blake Bortles than he does Mahomes. Its not like picking Rodgers who was considered a potential Top 5 pick and inexplicably dropped, this is a dude who needs a ton of work and likely won't be game ready for a few years, which is fine since they're stuck with Rodgers for a couple years but now its likely to be an even more disgruntled Rodgers, a dude who holds grudges for so long that he's written his family out of his life.
Personally I would rather have gone all in with Rodgers in the hope that he can pull something out of his butt in the playoffs then basically start playing for 2022 with no guarantees that Love will amount to much of anything.

Poor guy has to retire with a SB, MVP, and multiple all pros. Not to mention all his money. Ya, we sure showed him

I don't think Rodgers is done at all...I think the Packers need to figure out how to get him some more legit weapons, though. I thought their draft was pretty pitiful in terms of offense. The way they traded up to get Love was loathsome, IMHO.

Rodgers surpassed all expectations of him. His arm strength sky rocketed once he got in the nfl
In regards to Love, I assume you aren't too high on him? Bortles and Manuel are two certified busts, so if you're comparing Love to those guys it's pretty telling
I think he's a boom or bust guy, but I think he can be really good and he landed in a good situation. He needs to sit for a few years

and they drafted a RB after what aaron jones did last year and its not even like they have a bad backup RB either
Their draft made no sense to me, I get wanting to draft a qb but not when they have so many holes on offense to fill in a SB window

To think Love is the next Mahomes is ridiculous by the Packers mindstate. Mahomes is who he is not just because of his own talent but because he was Andy Reid as his HC/OC one of the greatest offensive minds ever in football, as well as the fire power surrounding him in Kelce, Hill, Hardman, etc. type of weapons they couldve tried giving to Rodgers now instead. Smh

it's a copy cat league. They see a big QB who can sling it and move in the pocket, but it goes so much beyond that. Pat also is a very smart football player. He already knows how to scan the field, and that's something most QBs take years to learn, and a lot of them fail to do so. His kind of pocket presence is also really hard to teach.
Love does have the Pat type of body and arm and athleticism. So it could worth the gamble. But does he has the other traits that Pat has that i mentioned?
And yes, it does help when you have all pro WR / TE. If Love would have to start week 1 bc of a Rodgers injury, it wouldn't be the same at all.

That is revisionist history for sure......
Rodgers always had a cannon, in the College QB competition that year the dude was hitting moving PIE PLATES 50 yards down field. I forget the saints QB who was the announcer went out and bragged about how far he could trow the ball, only to watch Rodgers toss one like 80 yards down field.
No one that followed the draft had any doubt about Rodgers arm strength, it was all some incorrect BS about being a telford project QB.

The guy was the 24th overall pick, let's not pretend like he was a can't miss prospect.
