This. They are making the same mistake when they got Peyton. What a horrible decision. Didn't they go 0 and 16?

Over the hill HoFer already worked once for them.

They're trying for the Peyton Manning project 2.0. Should never have passed on the franchise qb. They bring in Rodgers and they will be looking for their next qb with the 25th pick for the next 5 years plus.

Literally any team he goes to becomes a playoff contender and the Packers become the biggest garbage team in the NFL.

Yeah, if they get Rodgers for free. That ain't real world.
Nothing is going to keep this dude in Green Bay
The dude just wants out of the NFC. He get's owned just about every year in the playoffs.

Without seeing how much guaranteed money this proposal included, it's completely baseless to say "it's not about the money". For all we know they gave him a fluff contract.
So the Packers traded up in the 1st Round to get their backup QB of the future?

They were gonna make him the highest paid QB

I assume he wants another SB win more than anything at this point in his career. He was the MVP last year and couldn't get it done, maybe he does realize he needs to be on a super team.

They were gonna make him the highest paid QB
Which, again, means absolutely jack s**t if we don't know the guaranteed amount.

For example, let's say they offered him a 3-year extension:
2022: $30M, $30M guaranteed
2023: $60M, $0M guaranteed
2024: $60M, $0M guaranteed

ESPN: "Aaron Rodgers signed 3-year, $150M contract. His $50M average annual value makes him the highest-paid quarterback in the game."

In reality, this is a complete fluff contract. The team has no incentive to ever pay out the 2nd and 3rd year of the deal. The zero guaranteed money means nothing. This is an extreme, contrived example, but Rodgers being "highest paid" in no way, shape, or form guarantees he got a good deal.

That would be hilarious if that was true and his agent would've leaked that in a heart beat.
