I always find curious that Rodgers waited for the draft last year to ask for a trade at San Francisco. It was too late after the trade with the Dolphins. If he really wanted to be here, why he waited until the draft? Him with Shanahan and that defense, good lord. But would he be willing to work with Shanahan at this stage of his career? That ´ s the thing. Rodgers has a big ego. And Shanahan can´t wait to work with Trey too now.

crazy that Rodgers comments about coming back with the team in 2022 were so vague. He is definitely pissed at everyone for not getting him to the SB. For sure going to force a trade

He would have to take a pay cut of historic proportions to work with our D. This is why Garoppolo has to go and his contract is way less already. I think the reason maybe that he would kind of like to play for the 49ers but not so much doing it Shanahan's way rather than his. And not so much taking way less salary than he could get elsewhere. And not so much, emphasising the running game.

He's not coming here. Idk why people keep thinking that we spent 3 first round picks on a QB, just to go after another QB.

I assume this thread is asking if he's done in Green Bay. That's a very distinct possibility. Salary cap and other issues point to a possible parting of the ways.

Damn, i just gave overthecap a look (btw props to AB on the website. Looks like the site is finally being recommended over sportrac when searching for cap information!) and the packers are $40M over the cap next year. Didnt realize they completely sold out for this year. crazy!
I dont know how they stay competitive next year. They have to lose so many people if they decide to keep rodgers.

$50.9 million.
— Ken Ingalls - Packers Cap 💰 (@KenIngalls) January 23, 2022
The Packers pushed $50.9 million of salary cap out of 2021 via restructures & void years to go all-in this season.
It didn't work out.

Yes indeed. The dead cap hit for Rodgers being traded is basically the same as his salary as far as I can tell. Approx $26 million. With all the mouths to feed, they are probably better off calling uncle and trading Rodgers to get some picks. Full on rebuild.

Rodgers will probably go to the AFC to get FAAAAR away from the 49ers.

Justifiably so. Our QB keeps his mouth shut about politics or controversial topics like science (lol), because our QB is mature and knows he is a leader of men with differing views. And that brings me back to the one thing our QB is HANDS DOWN better than Rodgers: LEADERSHIP. Our guys bleed for our QB. Rodgers guys just expect him to rescue them.

Someone on foxsports brought this up last night. What if Rogers comes to SF, we cut Jimmy (or trade Jimmy for some picks) so he can sign with whomever he wants, and Trey goes to GB for their rebuild? We instantly get an MVP QB and are SB contenders for the next several seasons. With our D, running game, and Rogers....we would be scary. Not to say GB would want lance but Got me thinking at least.
