Because they´re gonna cut Zadarius Smith who was their best defender his first two seasons with them before being injured this year.
They also have to franchise Davante Adams.
Agree to disagree

- NFL Pick 'em
So why did they trade up to draft Jordan Love again?

Rodgers is far from done...and fortunately for the Packers this is a very good draft for WR's and TE's. That said, I saw this headline on a Niner website: "The Packers Signed Aaron Rodgers for a Guaranteed $153M to Lose to the Niners Again in the Playoffs."

4 years $200 million.
Average $50 million per year.
Which means Jimmy G is half price for some team. No longer a big contract that you guys complain about.

Those numbers are likely incorrect

That's what has been reported. The cap is up. So are franchise QB salaries.

Aaron Rodgers said the details of his contract are not what's being reported.

It's the most in NFL history. Jimmy G's contract is now low. Not hard to fit him in as a starter somewhere.
I ran into Packers executives shopping at the Dollar Tree for special teams players. They were arguing about how many pool noodles they could afford.

Yeah. Jimmy will start somewhere next year. Has anyone said he won't?

Just happy Rodgers & Wilson deals are done. With the potential exception of DeShaun Watson, Jimmy's at or near the top of the heap in available QB's. That should work well for us.

I was just gonna say, can we assume he is a bust? 4 more years of bench warming for this guy.

Good question. My suggestion would be to play him in preseason and hope he lights it up. If he does they will likely be able to flip him for a quality pick. Otherwise it's maybe a late round flier.
