am i the only one concerned if aiyuk is the Punt returner? i would hate to loose him to injury in PR duties

He's terrible and has been since he's been here. Shanny is a world class coach but he's blind as s**t when it comes to the importance of special teams.

Very subpar ST tonight. Have to shore up this phase of the game. Was tough to watch.

Side line coverage showing Shanny giving Hightower some serious questions!!!
Poor punting, bad snapping, inconsistent tackling, missed easy goal, fumble, questionable fair catch with no one around, punt returners and KO returners showed only one glimpse of hope.
I hope we see much better showing against LA but today they were outgunned by the the Kansas ST by a very long way!!!

Special teams sucked. The only bright spot seemed to be N Webster-need to give reps in the beginning of the game to see if he can do it against 1st team special teams.

And they want Aiyuk as the punt returner? Protect Brandon at all cost from these special teams.

That sideline shot of Shanahan and Hightower was very telling. You don't even need to be a lip-reader to see Kyle was not happy with what was going on. Other than one return by Webster, it was all bad.

Too bad we are about to start another season. January/February was the time to replace Hightower. At this point I blame Kyle for our special teams problems. This isn't a new concern.

I couldn't agree more.... we ARE a playoff team and were letting the 3rd aspect of the game (ST) destroy a competitive advantage, I've been a pro Richie James person but hes got to go, as does Hightower, I know hes Kyles boy from college as a fellow walk on, but get him out of here if there is any decent upgrade from the street.

I'd put JL on his case and have him help Hightower with KOs, Punts, FGs and get him directed along the riight path. I see no difference in our STs now as when JL/KS got here. Something is wrong there.
