Needs to get fired still

Hightower was better this game but you have to look at the big picture as a whole. We got burned on kick returns a ton this year and fell for fake punts multiple times on top of some bad penalties and other generally questionable decisions.

I'd still take Chris Tabor in a heartbeat over him but I'm not sure you can move on from him now, barring some crazy special teams collapse in a game yet to be played.

I would be pleasantly surprised. Kyle just doesn't seem like that thought has ever been close to being on his mind.

I certainly seems that way. Hopefully he opened his eyes when this phase has saved his season when it mattered but also put them on the backfoot all year. It took every part of special teams to excel to beat GB. Which included key stars in attendance.
Still have the need to tell Hightower there might be a fake punt, fake FG, or an on side kick sometimes in the Rams game

Yeah, let's not put out an unprepared Norman out there again.

exactly. Half the zone wanted him gone, now they look dumb.

Without the ST play yesterday, no way we win that game.

Lol...yeah bc one good game is going to erase all the s**t plays they had all year and a few years back. I still want him gone after this season. GBs STs ranks worse than ours, a bad play was bound to happen either way.

yep! All season, he has allowed fake punts, given up consistent 40 yard kickoff returns, and flat out made STs our achilles heel. One good game does not make up for that. If he wants to prove that those plays were because of him and not by the shear effort of Willis and Ward, then he needs to make magic once more with no F*uck ups.

Agreed. He's gotta go.
Well he's getting Trenton Cannon back for kick returns

And Benjamin will be handling the punt returns.

So at least as far as the return units are concerned it looks pretty good going forward...

Coverage units on the other hand different story

I think one of the reasons the coverage teams took a hit was when Sermon was injured. Sermon's healthy, so hopefully that coverage unit is solid now.

Yeah, they have to prepare like anything can happen.
So, on the fourth and two yesterday, I thought that might be the one time this year they try a fake. I am sure the Rams were ready, but still....I would have preferred Kyle go for it with the normal offensive personnel based on the situation. But, if not, this seemed like the one time this year to try something. The team never does though.

I know the STs unit put in work against GB, but they were s**t all year on the whole. I know it's unlikely, but I would love to see Hightower replaced.
Wow, one good special teams game in the snow against the Packers and we still have Hightower, and the Packers end up firing their special teams coach. Hightower has sucked. He should be gone too.
This guy isn't fired yet ?! Ok kyle you have another 24 hours….
Hightower has been our Special Teams coordinator since Shanahan got hired.
I forget... how has our special teams been in prior years? I believe this is actually the first year in the Shanahan era that I've thought our Special Teams sucked.
Hey Maurice Drayton is available ! 😂😂😂
