he deserves to keep his job after GB game
i hope we invest some draft capital on some return specialist and hopefully and give him another chance
I don't agree that should save his job it I sure hope they bring someone else in to at least help.
Having one good ST game in what 4-5 years isn't enough.
100% agreed. He's been given like 3 or 4 college record breaking returners and they've ALL regressed here. That alone speaks to his coaching, philosophy and development ability. The oppositions gunners are almost always first down to force a fair catch or make the tackle too.
No way one good game should prevent him from being fired. I'd love to see an upgrade here, but I have a feeling the Packers game may have just saved his ass lol. Here's to having one of the worst special teams In the league again next season.
I share this concern too. LOL
It's not just that they were among the worse units- even the philosophy is bad. Was it in week 18 or the Cowboys game where the commentator said Kyle just doesn't want to lose on special teams? You can play that kind of conservative ball, but in order for it to work, you have to be air tight. You need to play mistake free football. Your punter, when punting from within your 30 should be punting 60 yards or something. Launch that thing. We don't play disciplined enough to be conservative on special teams. We don't kick well enough, don't block well enough, don't cover well enough. It's like a team trying to play ball control with their running backs, but your RBs have a fumbling problem, take the wrong holes, always try to go outside and not follow the blocking, etc.
