Toast. I'd be shocked as hell if hes still here. But maybe he might be. It's Shanahan after all.

If he's Shany's friend then he will be back

I didn't get to see the game today, so I don't know what he did wrong, but I've been wanting us to move on from the guy for a while now. So yeah...

Specal teams have been hot thrash this season and now after what happened in this game there´s no way this guy can keep his job for next year.
But oh well, if Shanny likes him he´ll stay.

This team's margin for error is so razor thin now to win games with all the injuries...can't also be that poor on ST and expect to have a chance.

There is zero accountability under Shanahan. Hightower won't lose any sleep over being fired.

Hightower worked with Shanahan at Washington and Cleveland before spending 2015 with the 49ers and last season with the Chicago Bears. He also I believe played college football with him? So no, he won't fire his buddies.

Ugly game from the special teams today. I hope we can find a more consistent KR/PR for next season too.

If they occasionally made a big play today would have been a little bit easier to swallow. The typical kick off is a touchback or a return inside the 25. Punt returns are typically an unnecessary fair catch, a less than 5 yard return, or a muff.
Taylor didn't technically fumble the punt, but when he decided to not catch it he needed to clear the area. He didn't even try. Taylor is becoming more annoying to me than Pettis was.
I didn't have a lot of hope to start the game. With the good start I thought they might just get this done. The 49ers Special Teams are usually useless, but today they truly led to defeat.

No imagination and no accountability
