Next season will say a lot about McVay as a coach. Walked into a good situation but hit a slide this season. We'll see how he bounces back.

McVay had a pre-made super team that he inherited. Lets see how long the ra-ra stuff lasts after a few rough seasons. I have a feeling he and Matt LaFleur are paper tigers.

If you're not into the history of these young up comer coaches like McVay, Shanahan, and LaFleur, there's one glaring difference between Kyle and the rest of the guys that would tell who is much better. Kyle actually went to the SB as OC in Atlanta. He went there done that. SB caliber coach. The other guys touted as young and innovative but did they ever brought their team into the SB as coordinators.
They were coaches that went into a ready made team to be successful, but Shanny is a ready made successful coach. And he went to the Niners!!

They still had a good year. You put that team in almost any another divison they are going to the playoffs. And that's with a Gurley who is awful now and an average QB.
Hes a good HC, don't let your homerism blind u.

This. If McVay were available teams would be lining up to hire him as their HC. He's good at what he does. That being said, Shanny > McVay, and it's not close.

Shanahan blew teams doors off to get to the super bowl, and didn't even need to pass the ball to do it
McFraud needed the worst non-call of all time to happen to get there, and when he got there his "high-powered offense" only managed 3 points

I agree, and especially on LaFleur. When a head coach starts pointing fingers instead of accepting 100% of the responsibility you know he isn't made of the right stuff. People who point fingers wait for someone else to fix the issue. LaFleur had a successful 1st season because their defense improved over the garbage they fielded previously and imo had more to do with personnel additions than anything else, Rodgers stayed healthy for the season, and their schedule was easy peasy. They played the NFC North, NFC East, AFC West, +49ers and Panthers, and In that schedule they got the Chiefs without Mahomes.

Ya I'll take KS, but McVay is still a good HC.
