So, I'm assuming he's rescinded his trade request, and this was always about money, not really the WideBack role, but drafting another RB & Danny Gray showed we won't wear him down as a RB.

Deebo shouldve never been used as a RB anyway, they can sign guys off the street to run up the middle. end arounds yes, but as a straight running back when he was our best receiver was questionable

How big of an upgrade would Jimmy be coming off injury without Kyle?

Who wants to pay Jimmy 25m?

Who wants to give up draft capitol?

Would the 49ers eat salary for a draft pick rather then just cut him? In other words, would we buy a draft pick rather then just cut him?

I said long ago no one is sending a good pick and paying Jimmy?

He will be released. The only question is when?

once this shakes it's gonna be interesting to evaluate why it took so long?

No question of when, the day before his salary becomes guaranteed. I think August 31st, but I'm not sure. Unless someone gets their starter hurt, then there could be a trade. They don't want him to go to Seattle.

Deebo is just cutting himself short by refusing to be used as more than just a receiver. Got to show that talent off, that's what makes him special.

It's a negotiating tactic. No player wants the ball less. He makes a stink about it and maybe he gets offered more money to continue playing both roles.

I think he actually does.

I believe that the NFL and NFL agents have gotten so much wiser than say....20 years ago. I believe the NFL mandates that players go to some sort of financial class (especially for 20-22 year old rookies) for players who never experienced real money. Guys like T.O., Dez Bryant, Vince Young, and several others back in-the-day blew money left and right. They took bad advice on investments and spent $50,000 for team dinners. They also bet on themselves much more 20 years ago and then BOOM a devastating injury would occur.

I think Deebo is playing his hand correctly, I just did not like how petty and public it got. I believe he knows how easy it is to get injured as a WR let-alone hybrid RB. I think he and his agent mixed in with other good people in his corner are telling him to get his bag now. Don't settle. I also think the Niners know this and will pay him whatever, but somehow someway it will be team friendly. Whatever that means. We've seen Paraage do it before.

I guess we'll find out soon enough If those reports we're true about him not wanting to be utilised as a RB or not.

You would like to think we have better depth in the backfield including a healthy wilson plus a more diverse and dangerous qb back there that would not require us to use deebo as a running back with one or two clever exceptions .

I´m fine with Deebo playing WR and only WR. Give him some jet sweeps sure but that´s about it.
He was great in the first half of the season playing mostly WR.

I think he just wants to get paid for all the extra work he had to do.

He was returning kicks too. Both punts and kickoffs, iirc.

I'd be ok with this too. I'd actually prefer him being used strictly as a receiver. Less chance of him Injuring himself too.

the kick return to open up the second half vs green bay was nearly as big as third and 7 in my opinion.

I'm okay with this. But when it comes to playoffs imo it's open game. Whatever gives you the best chance to win
Dude still has a year on his contract. He's going to get a team friendly deal that gives him some money now. He'll be paid like a top 10 WR. We'll have him on lock for years and possibly have the ability to void some of it. I'm guessing 5 year 110-120m and 40-50m guaranteed.

I think it's likely that he'll play mostly WR and they'll break out the running packages on him just enough that teams will have to worry about it without putting undue risk on his longevity. I'm more concerned about his returning kicks.
