Thats because fans take loyalty to a team more seriously than players do.
Players can cut be cut or traded anytime. Players switch teams all the time. They aren't fans of the teams the play for. They are employees. Lots of players actually have favorite teams they don't play for. Steph Curry is a Hornets fan for example.

Another example, people that work at apple buying a windows PC. Normal.

Apple homers would never though even though they don't work there. They are just loyal to the brand.

I'm still very confused why we reworked Deebo's deal heading into this past season. Killed our chances to trade him.

I'll always appreciate Deebo for what he brought to the team but it's clear the smart move is to move him. Too much talk lately without the production.

Maybe…and that feels like a mistake. He's nowhere near the player he was when he got the big deal. He's hurting us more than helping us lately and he can't keep his mouth shut when he's not featured. Acts and gets paid like a stud but producing like a backup. We'll see how it shakes out.
