Yeah, the players speak well of him as well. Throw money at him! lol

It's really hard to evaluate WRs as a position group over the past few years, but I like what I've seen from them.

I think there is a larger abundance of really good receivers to be had in the 2nd-4th rounds. With so many college teams focusing on timing and high volume passing, hell, even High School is starting to switch over to high volume passing that kids are learning precision at WR at a very young age now.

I think it is easier to find more polished positions that are better geared for the passing game now.

For me, the 1st or even 2nd round should be all about defense or OL.

Same here gold49digger, I wasn't sure of Welker, but man, he's done a great job with Deebo, Aiyuk, & Jennings.

Same. In the beginning of the year I was iffy but I've changed my opinion. Did he help Bourne too?

Absolutely. Bourne was an UDFA and Jennings a 7th rounder. The fact that he got production out of guys you wouldn't expect to make a roster is a testament to Welker's coaching ability.
Is he leaving?

Anyone know why? Please don't tell me it was money… if it was a promotion, that I understand.

Im assuming he's gonna have an input in the passing game, which he probably didn't have much here with Kyle.
Pretty much gonna have a whole new offensive staff, especially if Bobby Turner retires.
