Tax it and regulate it. This is totally stupid to criminalize people for this. If personal use of Marijuana is legal than why not this?

Yes trafficking is wrong. But that is on the pimps and traffickers if that is what is happening. Simple soliciting for a older lonely guy is so stupid to criminalize. As long as it's consenting adults and he is paying them and they want to be paid why is that wrong? We live in such a strange society. In Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, Mexico and Africa such transactions are in large part just considered legal. Again as long as it's 2 consenting ADULTS and no trafficking involved.

But we live in a very weird puritanical society where we try to regulate everybody on morality.

Again human trafficking is wrong if that is what is happening and that's a whole different thing. But a transaction between 2 adults. Person A wants an experience. Person B wants some money. They agree on the exchange. They are both adults. They practice safe practices. How is this wrong and why is this wrong for society? This seems so stupid to me. People in Amsterdam would just think we are completely crazy and out of our minds.

"What once looked like a revolutionary approach to prostitution in Holland is now clearly seen as a disaster, by all except those who seek to make a profit"

So? You found 1 article by 1 lady who doesn't like it. Wow. Cool story bro. I can find 10,000 articles in support of it and how it works too. So what's your point? Your article is 1 opinion piece by 1 lady.

If you are paying for sex it is likely from an exploited woman or a severe drug addict in all likelihood.

Not necessarily. It can be a person who wants to make a high dollar amount for their time. Much more than they can earn otherwise. Many feminists actually support this because they say it allows women to be in control of how they make money and how they choose to live. As long as it is taxed, regulated and safe practices of course. Certainly no human trafficking. But you can regulate that out in a regulated situation. People must be certified, registered, regulated, confirmed, verified. That they are not trafficked. That they do this of their free will to make money.

Keeping prostitution illegal is why we have human trafficking in some ways.

I agree with that. If it was legal the traffickers would not have much of a market. It's ironic.

damn imagine if they legalize it though? They will probably tax the hell out of it.

And taxing it could pay off the US deficit in 5 minutes

I'm not so sure. It is illegal to hire immigrants without the proper papers but it still happens. If they legalized prostitution they could still bring in women sex slaves if it wasn't regulated right. Regulation in this country is a problem in a lot of areas so I doubt we could get it right on a grand scale. It works in Nevada because it is a much smaller number.

You could learn lessons from Nevada. Just scale it bigger and have more enforcement and regulation. Paid for by taxing it. So paid for by people who use that and not by other taxpayers.
Heard they have a special called "The Patriot Way." I wonder what that includes.

I don't get that comparison. Legalizing prostitution would lessen the market for human trafficking while illegal immigrants are needed because they dominate the cheap labor market until some alternative comes in to make that kind of work obsolete.

Not saying human trafficking would never happen but it would certainly lessen the market for illegal activity

You're right but I have doubts that we would do it right. Half the agencies in the country are underfunded now because we don't have enough money. It would take a pretty large group of people to monitor the hundreds if not thousands of places that would spring up to make sure all the girls were legal and healthy.
