Criteria of a "#1" WR

The #1 is so good that he makes the #2 look like a 1.

Is TY Hilton a #1 WR?
Is Stefon Diggs a #1 WR?
Is Brandin Cooks a #1 WR?
Is Doug Baldwin a #1 WR?
Is Jarvis Landry a #1 WR?

yes, no, no, no, no, imo. My list of #1 WRs is not a very long one: Hopkins, OBJ, ABrown, Evans, Julio, TYHilton, KAllen, Michael Thomas with AJGreen as my "worst #1 WR". That's it. Some of my "No's" above are close but I'm keeping it an exclusive club.

You forgot Tyreek Hill, I think Diggs and Theilen both are in their own way as well, just varies depending on how DC's play them.

Otherwise I agree with your list, separate debate but George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Zack Ertz all fit the bill for me as well.
Brown from ole miss

Warner was my draft crush last year. Brown is mine this year.

I think Brown from Ole Miss or Deebo Samuel is the most likely pick for us.

I think so too, who would you rather have? Both get great yards after the catch, I like Brown better but I haven't watched a lot of his film. On a podcast somebody said he played mostly in the slot, I did not see that but it looked like he was fine on the outside. I haven't seen a wide receiver get that much yac that easily and effortlessly in a long time.

I've flipped flopped so much on these wide receivers. But I do think we will target both AJ and Deebo. If AJ is there he will be the pick. I just kinda doubt that is going to happen now seeing his pro day.

So true
Production is the only criteria.

Which is to say, don't get caught up in using a set criteria of traits to identify someone as a #1 WR and then dismiss everyone who doesn't fit all of those traits.

My criteria:

- Someone you can game plan around so he's nearly a lock for 1K a year. But not just as a primary target, but one you can throw a defense for a loop by using as a decoy to get others open once in a while. Either way, a DC must be hyper-focused on this WR1.
- They can not be matched in man coverage with one or two exceptions a year.
- He creates a catch radius of trust for his QB. Size doesn't matter so much here as the ability to always make the play esp. on an off-schedule throw. His QB can trust him above all else to make him look good.
- He can run a full complex route tree and play all 3 spots and is a technician and protectionist...tone setter. A film junky.
- Has a tremendous feel for holes in the defense.
- Ability to position body foot timing of throws and boxing out or high pointing.
- RAC machine.
- Play-maker.
- TD machine.

Physical dominance helps with Rice, Fitz, T.O., Irving, Megatron, etc.
