Very true. But if you look around the league and see Mahomes, Jackson, Watson, Prescott, etc all flourishing then you got Roman who's had some success with Kap and now a top ranked o with Jackson f Dalton you hire him and give him the next athletic qb.
Idk I still think the Option qb is pretty risky. Lamar can easily get injured and RG3 would be like a deer in headlights as a starter.

Sure it weakens defenses and is a tough grueling way to play but the risk factor is there. There's a reason you don't see alot of it in the NFL.

I think some desperate team might offer him a job, but if he's smart, he should stay put. He does his best under a Harbaugh crown.

A bunch of QBs get injured as the list shows. How bout we actually look at what's really going on now with injuries, instead of what we hope and pray to one day happen to a player by the time he gets old??

As Steve Young would tell us...the main concern when taking off as a QB were concussions from opportunistic defenders,...not these leg injuries that statues get from not being able to move all the time.

And I know Young sure as hell wishes he could be playing in this era now with how far the NFL has gone to take that stuff out of the game and protect QBs.
Brother Harbaugh's team is probably the only team that's having Saleh loose alot of sleep waking up in a pool of sweat all week.

Aside from your normal containment on the outside, it'll be interesting to see just what the plan is for this kid this week.

Probably the NFL game of the season coming up.

Name me a coach that has won without talent.

Agree. The rules only protect a QB if he's sliding and if he's in the pocket. Once out of the pocket and isn't sliding - the QB's fair game. I think if Steve Young was playing in this era, I think he could add a couple more years to his career, but I still think it would be shorter than a pocket QB with good talent around him (i.e. TB12).

Still, I marvel at the durability of Midget Wilson. Every year I expect him to be IR'ed every year, and every year I still am surprised that he's made it through one more season without medical issues. Contrast that with RGIII, Kaepernick when he was here, and Cam Newton. Simply amazing. Maybe it's a special kind of PED he's taking?

I keep thinking back to what Brent Jones said of McFarland--

"The Garoppolo thing has me a little fired up," Jones told KNBR. "I really am frustrated with Snot Nose, or Loogie, or Booger or whatever the guy's name is. I try not to throw people under the bus most of the time, but you're a very, very average defensive lineman your whole career.

"If I could pick anybody on a team that knows less about what's truly going on offensively and defensively, it would be a defensive lineman. Rush the passer, stay in your lane, play your gaps, tackle the guy. That's it. You don't care what coverage, you don't care what linebackers are going…you don't know pass patterns, you don't know what running backs are doing, you don't know anything.

"I get it, he was a guy that was left over because Jason Witten didn't make it, but don't come and bring your quarterback analysis into the prime time of Monday Night Football, when you're just a jag, when on a crappy team you're just a guy. That got me fired up last night.

"You tell me about Jimmy Garoppolo and his mechanics and that he's a bit off, while on the flip side Baker Mayfield, 'Oh I like what Freddy Kitchens is doing, oh Baker Mayfield has had some ups and downs tonight.' Really? Show me an up. There was no up. He got up after he was flat on his back.

"I was not happy with that analysis at all. I know he's working hard, and he's trying, but he's a defensive lineman that doesn't know anything about the game, and it's a travesty that that's Monday Night Football.

"Monday Night Football is legendary, and I'm sure he's a good guy, but don't bring your analysis in and throw guys under the bus when you don't know what you're talking about."

Wasn't just that. It was the 4 hour BJ of Russell Wilson too. Granted it's not just the MNF crew but it's simply amazing how much credit that guy can get even when he doesn't play well and the D wins them games. Next Monday's game commentary will be insufferable.
