Brother Harbaugh is just as ignorant as Jim

They won't get past the Patriots in the playoffs regardless. Just watch.

Jackson has gotten a lot better at passing than I thought he would though. Last year he was throwing Tebow ducks for short yardage dinking his way down. He's actually pretty accurate this year.

He's significantly better than kap ever was at passing already.

He's going to get hit one of these times though by a safety or linebacker and then he will be rg3.

Remember in year 2 of major kap play there was a solid debate about him or Wilson being better statistically. Then he got figured out and we know the rest of the story.

Generally it's 1-2 years before the running qbs get enough film that everybody forces them to win with their arms and they cant.

How did this thread go from Harbaugh is dumb for picking Jackson to this?

Eric Reid said Kap was the original Jackson, so it opened the floodgates to comparison. Jackson is already much better than Kap ever was.

And Reid needs to get his history right, the original running type of QB who could throw with a cannon is the legend, Randall Cunningham.
Seems like D Coordinators already figured him out in the run game. There are multiple defenders in the right place to stop him on some of these crazy runs .

Problem is he is too elusive for them and literally runs by them untouched even when the defenders are 1 foot away .
He is the most elusive runner in the NFL (including RBs) and I can only recall one player who was more elusive and that was Barry Sanders .

He's not dumb for picking him he's dumb for putting all his eggs into that basket.

The saints could throw all their eggs into the taysom hill basket but they dont (or at least have nto yet).

The way Harbaugh used kap with Alex and the way the saints use taysom hill is the ideal way to use these guys.

They just get figured out. I just find it insane coaches keep trying it after it didn't work out with newton considering he's more athletically gifted than anyone since and couldn't win a sb.
to me its the same offense we ran with Kaepernick here. ! Greg Roman is their OC, and the harbaugh's are brothers.

Wasn't just that. It was the 4 hour BJ of Russell Wilson too. Granted it's not just the MNF crew but it's simply amazing how much credit that guy can get even when he doesn't play well and the D wins them games. Next Monday's game commentary will be insufferable.

Big time.

It just drives the hate even deeper.

My Wilson hate is a product of the media and Seahawk fans. His luck and unorthodox style plays a role too, but would be more tolerable if the other stuff didn't exist.

Cam Kap and Wilson have all gone to a SB. Wilson and Kap played well enough to win all their SB matchups. Cams the only one that had a bad game.

Guys like Rodgers/Young/Favre only have 1 SB, and they played for a damn long time. Manning only managed 2. It's not that easy to win a SB, a lot more has to go right than just your QB play. Those 3 guys (Cam/Kap/RW) were playing in a SB quickly after the NFL got off its high horse and started running some "college" concepts. That speaks volumes imo.

The reason this didn't happen earlier is the NFL was too stubborn and would not play to a running QBs strengths. Now they do and it's really really hard to stop. You have to hope their bodies breakdown (RG3/Cam), their team turns into an expansion team overnight (Kap), or you will not stop them and they will continue to get better (Wilson).

Cam Newton is literally twice the athlete Kap was who is more of an athlete than Lamar by far and struggles to win big.

Lamar Jackson was a better prospect than Kap ever was.

I dont think so, you dont see lamar busting out 50+ td runs. On the road or not kap was a gamer when he still had his confidence . I want to see how lamar handles the pressure of a close game.

Overrated would mean that he isnt good. But hes very good. Hating on his skills make niner fans sound not knowledgeable at football.

So if you dont win a SB, that means it didnt work out? Hey Marino didnt win a SB, lets not draft pocket passers anymore lol. Running QBs have won SBs before, so...

Cam has had a good career, and isnt done yet. But Cam also doesnt run like Vick did or how Jackson does. He runs like a power back, while Jackson just runs around you.

When you are that athletic like Vick or Jackson, it doesnt matter that a defense figures you out. Like Blizz said, DCs seemed to have figured him out already, players are in a position to tackle him, problem is, they cant.

As far as him getting injured, its possible, QBs do get injured whether they are running QBs or pocket passers. But its also possible for him to stay healthy like Vick did or RW does.

Wilson isn't a running quarterback. Wilson is closer to Steve young than jackson.

Wilson runs to extend plays he doesn't tuck it and run for it when things break down.

Maybe Jackson progresses into extending plays with his legs more than trying to get first downs and his career gets extended.

The reality is these guys tend to get hurt and none have won a superbowl.

Additionally, they tend to have a hard time because they can't adapt their game once defenses zone into stopping them running for first downs.

I don't think the model of adapting and allowing them to run if things break down very often is sustainable or will win superbowls.

Jackson may prove me wrong as he is already way better than I thought he would be. If he wins a superbowl I'll eat crow but I won't put any money on it. Especially with Brady and belicheat still in the game.
Can some brave soul just go ahead and change this damn thread title??? LoL.

For all of his shortcomings (I guess?), he has 1 Superbowl win (against us), gave us 1 in the L column this year, and showed today at least that he trusts his players to win the game more than our current coach presently does.

Not remotely true. Derek Jeter was overrated. Jim Harbaugh is an overrated coach. Plenty of guys can be good and even great and still be overrated.

Being objective isn't hating. He's not a HOF QB. This is the first year you could legitimately make the argument he's played at an elite level. He's got 3 pro bowls in 7 years that he made on his play not as a replacement. Never been an All Pro. Yet he's compared to Steve Young.

Yah that's overrated. The Kirby Puckett of football.
