So blind QBs too? Dan fouts, montana, young, etc could run the offense blindfolded.
The reason a blind person can do it is it is repetitive. It is muscle memory, but he could not snap on punts.

Most of the NFL guys can hit the bullseye at 15 yards as close to evertime as it gets. Al while having speed on the ball so the rush team can't get there.

So you don't think, Let's just say the backup Center, can do that if given the reps every week in practice? How many reps do you think Skule got last week in practice? Did he come in and execute better than the actual LS? I'll just agree to disagree that it can't be done with a backup olineman. Call me a rebel cause I'd use the roster spot somewhere else lol

I think the main reason to have a long snapper is so they can practice non-stop with the kicker and punters and get a rapport going. Also, you don't want to pull your linemen from their practices to long snap.

Pretty sure this is why. Same reason why it's usually the punter that holds instead of the backup QB. Those three spend a lot of time together (kicker, holder, snapper).

You think that over the last 100 years of NFL football you're the first one to suggest that using a C instead of a LS might be possible? The reason they employ a LS specialist is because its a special skill that must be worked on full time. Its not something that a C can do on the side.

Its a specific skill to snap a ball through your legs in perfect position for a holder or punter to catch it. Skule filled the role in a pinch, but he's not going to be able to take the amount of reps to perfect the art while attending all the OL meetings and working on his blocking technique.

No, of course I don't think I'm the first to think that lol. I still don't think this "special skill" requires 1.5hrs of practice every freaking day. Look It's just a discussion point. On a team that loves and preaches versatility, if our WRs can learn and execute the playbook of all 3 spots, TEs can fill FB and vice versa, DEs can play inside and out etc. You get my drift. Brunskill learned and played all 3 of OT, G, and C.
Wow, Nelson is now waived. I wonder if there's something else going on with him.
He's been waived.

Wow.

Seattle will pick him up and he will become GOAT snapper.

Dude could not get his ish together on Sunday. How do you just lose your ability to snap a ball correctly? that's your only job. lol.

But i guess i shouldn't talk bad about it, i don't know how difficult it is to snap a ball.

its a mental thing I'm sure. Like a golfer that gets a case of the yips or when a catcher can't throw the ball back to the mound.

Edit~ I started htis post hours ago and never hit submit. Now that I see he's been waived makes me wonder if something bigger was going on than just the yips

Yeah I think so. Dude was really good at his craft. He was one of few long snappers they said that could hike the ball and have the punter receive the ball with the laces in the right spot.
I'm sure there's something heavy going on and unfortunately just all unfolding.

His snaps will be so perfect they won't need a place holder
Tough business.
Jesus. 1 bad game in his career. Done. Meanwhile, Kwon.
