Still surprised to see him cut after a bad game.

I guess he lost his confidence.

I think maybe this was his "another game".

Hope he lands on his feet. I am no expert yet I thought I saw personal pain on his face. Like something deeper than the game.

Yup. In Kyle's presser he definitely made it sound like the giants game wasn't the only issue. Maybe its been an issue the previous games too but we just really didn't notice it. Maybe its been an ongoing issue in practice. Who knows, but I really don't think the decision to waive him was based solely on last Sunday.

I think it's something psychological.
He probably didn't focus on his game this whole offseason. Some players just all of a sudden no longer have it. Center Jeremy Zuttah was one. It was irrelevant how accomplished the player was in his career.
He lost his smile like Shawn Michaels.
I'm kind of shocked, well at first I was, until I read what Shanahan said, that it's been going on for a bit, so, I guess it makes sense, just hope this Taybor Pepper does well. Now we eat $1.05M from Nelson's release.
First time shanny has shown any ruthlessness towards mediocrity. Hopefully same goes for pettis and to Jimmy if he can't hold it together.

Its insane that a LS makes that kind of money. Forget training your kids to throw lefty, teach them how to be a long snapper. Make them practice every day. lol

Technically he was making the league minimum for his service in the NFL, so $1.05M was that. He couldn't make anything less than that.
Perhaps there is a mental aspect of special teams similar to golf. You see it all too often with these guys where they seem to "lose it". David Akers comes to mind.

Trey Junkin anyone? Lol
