This offseason will be the most critical of his career health wise. And I know he's fought unrelated injuries in the past.

If he comes into 2020 with unresolved tendonosis, which is possible with even the best care, then I would push the eject button.

So using new WZ logic, we'll be taking another ER this next draft because you need 10 deep quality DL but only 3 quality OL.
I love Dee but it's unreal we have this amount of money "knowing " he had this injury. It's 2 weeks in and he's hobbled for who's knows how long.

I thought we got a whole new medical & training staff! See the medical staff... same as the old staff

Yea, we should of caught this. We know why the chiefs didn't want to give him a long term deal. We Got bamboozled.

Yup. Shore up the QB position check (Jimmy and MUllens) shore up the edge rusher position. (Bosa and Ford?) Ford has the question mark, that's what ShanaLynch needs to focus on in next years draft.

49ers likely to pick in late-teens to 20s. That puts them in position to take an interior lineman. Person isn't really a long-term answer.

Maybe, but still, he's a quality pass rusher when he's able to play. My understanding is that he had this all last year when he had an all pro year. I don't see why he can't play up to that level again for one more year. And I do think we did get bamboozled - the medical staff wasn't quite formed until after the Dee Ford trade, and I'm sure he passed physicals before he signed his new contract.

Good thing that Bosa looks to be healing real well. He's practicing a lot this week. Next year another edge rusher!

I think he'll play most weeks this season, barring a new injury. The issue will be his total playing time and overall effectiveness. His tendonosis has zero chance to heal during the season. His accompanied tendonitis will be a week to week proposition.

Tendonosis recovery is measured in months -- not weeks -- and certainly not days.

People forget. It's not just a pain tolerance issue. If the tendon is inflamed, that means it cannot operate fully. He can be a tough guy, but if the body doesn't want the knee the bend, the knee isn't going to bend.

Exactly. What's scary is that he just had months of rest. then more rest after the procedure. And after a game and 1/2 it's already a problem. Not good. Let's hope for the best but they might want to realize he might not be part of the near distant future.

He's dealt with the same thing in KC...he never practiced much there from what I've read. I'm all for giving him the load management routine throughout the yr. He's got no reason to be in on 1st or 2nd and long IMO either. We have a couple good DE that can defend the run.

He should be our speed rusher and nothing more. Get pressure on the QB, hit the QB, sack the QB, make the QB fumble. I don't care about him setting the edge.
You know what I'm done with all of you guys. Dee ford has a minor injury and is most likely gonna play this game and the rest of the season but apparently you guys just want to complain about everything. If it's not saleh its bosa, if its not him its armstead if its not him it's ward if its not him its solomon thomas. It's always something. Nobody can enjoy back to back road blowout wins. You want to bash ford for a minor injury that a lot of players get. After ford dominates who's the next player/coach you all want to bash? mcglinchey? sherman? Brieda? whose next on the list?

His tendonosis is a new diagnosis. Tendinitis and tendonosis are not the same thing.

Shame you weren't here during the Alex Smith days.

exactly. they can't pick on jimmy g so they move on to bashing ford.

jesus . no one is bashing ford. he has a knee issue. thats a fact. he aggravated it sunday. thats a fact. he is key on our d line. thats a fact. no one is hating him. just some concern about him a bit this year and for sure down the road.there is no malice intended when some say. oh. now we know why the chiefs did not make an effort to keep him.i swear. some people have such an affection for the term haters, they throw it around like xmas candy. no one is hating on ford. just a bit concerned about his knee

When cc is dropping logic on you, it might be time to hang it up golden and just slowly walk away.

dee ford out for the season with a minor injury. Thats all of your guys logic. 2-14 the rest of the way because dee ford doesnt practice because he is going through a minor injury. thats your logic. complain about everything instead of enjoying how great we played against the bengals and bucs.

Well ya, it makes sense. Otherwise why would they trade the leagues lead sacker from 2018? i believe he led in sacks. i dno.

Either way, we knew their had to be a catch. GG Chiefs.

You gotta take it easy goldensnake. I'm positive that every 49er fan is pumped for the 2-0 start, and how they looked getting there. Doesn't mean there are zero concerns. It's Thursday so the happy energy from Sunday's win is lessened and now we're just discussing what's on the horizon. A nagging knee injury to our new, shiny pass rusher can be worrisome.

We're totally on the same side here. We. Cannot. Put. Off. Offensive. Line. Any. Longer.

Given that we shouldn't be taking any more receivers or backs, we should be dipping into the edge rusher pool day on 2. And I keep saying this, we have to find a way to get more picks in 2020. I also hope Street comes back slimmed down to primarily play at end.
