Some stuff I saw while watching Ford last week after the rumor popped up. He's very talented and actually reminded me a lot of a mini-Josh Allen.

Ford's game is predicated on speed. His get off is blazing and eats up space with his first three steps. He's not that tall(relatively speaking), so he naturally shrinks around the arc. He absolutely feasts on tackles who are late out of their stance or have slow feet. Give him a soft corner, and he'll snatch it.

Coming out of college, he'd simply run past tackles. But he's learned how to soften the corner by using his hands. This cross-chop move is absolutely filthy. He does false step a lot, which is surprising given how explosive he is. But he could be even more explosive if he gets that tidied up.

Another improvement since coming out of college is his ability to convert speed to power. Ford knows how to use his speed to manipulate tackle's into opening their hips. As previously mentioned, he's a hair under 6-2, so he's got that natural leverage to work underneath tackle's pads.

After watching him again this week Josh Allen is exactly who I thought of too. I think Allen might be a little quicker.
too much money. bad move

If Kwon totally healthy and Dee Ford plus Buckner, Bosa or QW

Opposing QB's wet there beds the night before and poop their pants the day of #BookIt
This is a great trade, if you watched the chiefs last season his name came up almost every singe play.

If he can play up to that with the Niners a 2nd in 2020 is theft.

Why not both? We can certainly afford both guys. Personally, I'm happy that the Ford deal happened and the OBJ one didn't. The flexibility we now have with the 2nd pick is salivating.

Because you're not locking up close to $40 million in two players on long deals. They still have to address CB. WR will be addressed via the draft.
Very Nice!

Much Excite!
Re-watching a Niners' 2018 game on defense right now. The Niners' defense (which is a hybrid of a 4-3 and 3-4 defense.... is three guys in the three point position and one in a two point position at the snap, usually on the weakside....the RDE spot.....the Elephant). The Niners do flip the elephant back and forth on both right and left sides, even though traditionally they are racing around the LT.

However, I saw more snaps with all four down lineman in a three point stance, even on base downs. So, the defense has some flexibility.

Bosa played heavily at LDE (the strongside DE) at OSU, which would allow Ford to be the Leo, or Elephant, in this system. I just don't know the Niners are going to give up on both Armstead and Thomas as base-down defenders. Hence, my skepticism they are going to pick Bosa......but, who knows. I could be totally wrong. I just see much bigger issues in the secondary.

Hey MadDog, I just watched some film on him, and he rushes from the left end spot quite a bit. Bosa might still be the pick.

Our LEO rushes from the left

Leo is the RDE, the weak side edge. I guess if the TE lines up on the left side of the offense, then the LDE would be the weak side edge.

Me too brother...s**t gonna be nasty....on obvious pass rushing downs with those 2 and Buck...my god
Well this is a shocker and a pleasant surprise!! Wow. The 49ers have SO MUCH FLEXIBILITY now. If Bosa is available, it's the right move. If Bosa isn't, QW is the right move. If they trade down for a huge hall, still the right move. And they still have their 2nd this year? I almost feel like we owe the Chiefs one or something lol. But then I remember we gave them Joe Montana, Steve Bone, and Alex Smith. It's about time they sent something good our way

Now....time to zero in on Mr. Thomas.

BTW..I still hope we take Bosa, but I'm cool with any of the above options. If we do, then we can move on from AA. No sense in having a $9 million dollar back up.

Its CJ Mosley money. Its less money than Flowers got from Detroit. For a guy who had 13 sacks, 7 fumbles forced and led the league in QB pressures.
A legit pass rusher will help the whole defense. Very happy to have a Ford. Wondering if they will pass on Bosa now because of Ford.

He's early in his prime (turns 28 on the 19th). Last year was a breakout year, I think he still has room to improve
