I'm not a cap expert but knew this was coming. A cut would've eaten up more space so that was out. If this was a payout as AB81 says then it's a plus because we were on the hook no matter what. Looking forward to the 100 snaps he'll give us this year lol.

I red about this possibility over a week ago. The cap works in strange ways. Apparently they save more by this move than they would by just cutting him. Maybe they get a few snaps out of him. He actually played pretty well at the beginning of last season. Maybe they save him until the end of the year.
