He was constantly in the backfield disrupting things and making plays. With the W9 a predominant alignment now, he's the only pure ER after Ford and Bosa IMHO. Blair will be in that mix too.

Weren't you the one that had 11 guys making the roster from D-line? Interesting to think we have 11 game-day quality defensive lineman on the roster. I have Moore being one of the cuts ONLY because there are 10 other guys. If this were last year, he makes the team.

Yes, at this very second, I do have 11 only b/c MM said we're definitely keeping Street on the 53. That complicated things.

I'd say just the opposite now. We have wayyyyy too many dudes that can play all of these: 2i and 3T and big END/LEO should we need it. What we don't have, are edge rushers after Ford and Bosa. Moore fits that role in our wide-9. Blair is a bit of a tweener for that role IMHO but adequate.

Change in scheme/alignment = change in personnel.

Trade AA for a starting caliber tackle. Problem solved lol. Actually no, because no team is giving up a starter unless there is a younger player on a cheaper contract that can play just as well .

You're joking but man, we just have 100 guys who can all play inside and out (as run defenders). Somebody has got to go. I can't imagine they keep more than 10 again like last year.

Clones of Responsibilities:
Arik Armstead, Kentavius Street, Sheldon Day, D.J. Jones, Jullian Taylor, DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, Nick Bosa & Ronald Blair

They won't trade him for a tackle but he could net a decent draft pick. He'd walk in and be the Dolphins best run defender for example.

Could be that 3rd ER role like Marsh was supposed to be.

This....Will we really cut a #3 ER? I don't think so. Sure, a bunch of non starters he was playing against last nite. But we got No real DE after Bosa and Dee. I just don't see him getting cut. We got an overload of DTs...that's probably where the cut comes from. We won't keep 11 DTs/DEs. And we got a lot more DTs than DEs. So DaMontre stays...that's my bet.
If Jones' is out for an extended period, Moore has a good shot. Although Vaoaloga did well too, but again, against poor competition.

Are you lumping Bosa and Blair in with the other guys? You have some pure edge guys like Ford, Bosa, and Moore. Then you have guys that COULD play on the edge, but are better inside. DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, and Solomon Thomas fit that mold. Then you have guys that can could play inside, but are probably better suited outside. Blair and Street are those guys for me. Then you have guys who are purely inside guys- Taylor, Jones, and Day. It's almost like a sliding scale from black to shades of grey to white in terms of skillset. There is definitely a lot of overlap, but I wouldn't lump all of those guys in the same category. I do agree that there is a glut of guys who can handle the inside because we've been stockpiling those guys for years.

As for trading AA, I'd like him traded. I just don't think it's likely we get a quality tackle for AA. Some other position is more likely, but people typically don't let good tackles go going into the regular season.

I'd like to see how Street does inside as well before really exploring moving AA. If he were moved, he could definitely start on a few teams and I'd like someone/something useful in return (player or pick).

Most likely option.

No just guys who can play as run defenders at DE or inside at either 2i or 3T.

Guys like Ford, for instance, can not. Which demonstrates our lack of depth at edge rushers behind Ford and Bosa in this W9.

Before we trade Arik, could we please see him play first with the Dee/Bosa/ Buck /Solly line? Against top end OLs ?

Truth.

He did look very good - but his competition was weak.

3 More games to judgement day.
well, after our 1st preaseason, MOORE deserved to make the team.. he can be one of those FA who turns out to be a FIND and become a solid player for years to come..

but we'll see.. TOO EARLY!!
