He said he thinks Peters will make a big play for him. The best shot we have at retaining him will be a 1 year deal if he has no opportunity to be the guy for another team. I hope we get him back, but I'm thinking that linebacker becomes a big priority in the draft early rounds now.
I'm not surprised Dre wants to go somewhere he's the #1 guy aka the highest-paid LB on the team.
Peters will definitely go hard after Bobby Wagner's god awful performance in the NFCC stuck in his mind.

I would love to have Dre back but I think we'll be outbid. Washington would be a great fit also. I think it's time to rip the bandaid off let some good players go so the team can get younger and build the next core.

Dre is only 27 he should be part of the core. Injury and high price tag are a concern but I'd like to keep him if at all possible.

The one qtr of football he played against the Rams shows what he does to the whole defense. We have got to sign him if at all possible.

If we are swinging big next season we need him more than he needs us. His playmaking and tackling ability translates to any defense in the league, so staying with us for another budget deal will be tough. We have to at least offer him fair comp. His presence on the field elevates the other 10 player's aggressiveness and confidence. When Dre is on the field we are hunting!!!

I get wanting to be the main linebacker, but I can't see him getting a huge deal given his injury history. I wish we could keep him but if not then we for sure need to draft a fast linebacker or address it in FA.

Same. He probably can be the main linebacker in 2026. But I can't imagine him being given a number 1 linebacker now. Absolutely crazy. Unless he is willing to sign some huge incentive, annual rip cord type of deal.

He could go Azeez route. I hope he changes his mind and sticks around for at least this year…last ride type of deal. I think if he believes in himself thinking he can be LB1 then playing this year for one year with Saleh back would be a good move career wise. He'd be eligible for the big multi year deal after showing everyone he's back.
He's really the only major UFA we have that I want brought back. Don't care if we lose Huf, Banks even Ward.
Just want him back and Jaylen Moore and Bartch, doubt the two of them would cost too much.

- I love Dre. Proud as hell of him. I always will be. But I would be less then honest if I did not point out you do not sign another expensive deal with a player coming off an Achilles injury. A more friendly prove it deal, yes, you do that.
If you are Dre you get all you can bc besides a desire to be the top guy, you might suffer another terrible injury that costs you more money and time. He has to go for the bag.
It sucks. But life ain't easy.
