Hope he freezes his nuts off if we actually did outbid the broncos like they're saying

He said at the beginning of free agency he wanted to be the guy he was a man of his word. Not surprising the team threw everything at keeping him we all know he and Ward were the ones leaving who will really impact this team. I hope he has a long successful and healthy career from here on out.

Seems like to me they underestimated his market.

His market was "Being on a team without Warner." Not exactly sure how the Niners compete with that.

That's not how free agency works.

It's exactly how this specific scenario worked. SF offered Greenlaw the most money. He turned it down to take less and be the #1 LB on a different team. There was nothing the 49ers could offer aside from trading/cutting Warner to keep Greenlaw.

After he agreed to terms with Denver. Initially they were only offering a one year deal with incentives.
If this is true I think Greenlaw made a mistake, not sure what he's trying to prove if he wants to "be the guy" 9er fans adored him. Im sure he'll do great in Denver but Idk how good he is covering thats what made him and Warner such a beast of a tandem Warner could trust him to clean up the run while he focused on coverage and vice versa. All the best to Greenlaw he gave it his all with us

Wish him nothing but cold fingers in Denver

I wouldn't entirely say its a mistake, because just looking at the rosters now Denver's defense definitely has better players than ours atm. Him being healthy will only add to it. Denver's defense played well last year and they now add Huf and Dre, barring any injuries they should be even better.

Definitely our DL is in shambles, not necessarily saying it's a mistake leaving the 49ers but leaving the monster tandem he made with Warner. Idk wanting to be a star and not play in someone's shadow is a real thing especially when you are that good. Sucks so bad it's close to Willis and Bowman, both those tandems should be legendary

Yes both tandems are great and its unfortunate that both tandems will be without rings.
I like Dre but okay with him leaving. Best of luck with him becoming the "MJ" in Denver.

This is why fans need to be patient and wait to hear the details prior to trashing Lynch and co. for not signing him. They did everything they could. He now has what he wanted, be the guy. He'll find out it's not that easy without a guy like Fred by his side.
