That's a bummer. Love him as a player.

Imagine the rage and despair here if we had extended him and we got this news right after the Mustapha news yesterday.

He was the one most of us wanted to retain, but some of us (like yourself) did not want to overpay. Aka a reasonable smart deal knowing his injury history.
So messed up. I wanted him back bad but understood the position of the front office. Turns out they were correct. Hope he heals up.

Right. He mostly got a reasonable deal (disregarding injury history). I would have been fine with that deal but I don't think the money was the main reason he went to Denver.

Yes he wanted to be lb1. I respect that.

Love Dre, but this is why you don't pay him

Albright is only useful for contract numbers and Broncos info... fwiw

Hmm per reports, we out bid the broncos. Dre just wanted to step out of warners shadow and "be the guy".

I feel terrible for him that he got hurt though. :/ fortunately that doesn't fall on us but I feel bad for him as a person.

Thankfully it's not as bad as it seemed, I first read he tore a quad muscle, but those things can linger. He better make sure it's fully healed before jumping in cause that isn't an injury you want sticking around

They weren't correct. Lynch and Shanahan went to Texas to try to talk him out of the deal he had already agreed to with Denver. Dre said no, and they got lucky.
Damn, hopefully he's OK and can get onto the field ASAP.

Agreed.
My guess is that it isn't a complete tear off the bone and they're hoping that he can heal it up enough before the season to play through it, which probably isn't the best idea but is what it is.

I think they're understating it but it isn't bad enough to require surgery, at least yet.

My son loves the Broncos.

Was/Am really pulling for Dre to have a great season.
Not on our team. Don't care.
Just injury after injury after injury with him now. Probably good thing we got rid of him. As a person of course I hope he's ok. But for a team this is why you have to keep replacing guys and drafting well. Guys get older, more mileage, injuries, wear and tear. Then want huge FA contracts. This is why it's essential to hit in the draft.
