This. I didn't get the pick at all tbh. As a Stanford fan I don't think he's the kind of player we needed. I would much rather find another blocking type H back. Usually KS drafts players who excel at YAC and that was just not Smith's game at all.

I rather have him over Levine Toilolo... Smith played well for the Giants..

Toilolo was a huge part of our run game success. When he missed time during the season, the run game suffered big time. Smith had a decent rookie year, but was caught in a numbers game at the end of camp.

It seemed clear KS were trying to sneak him through waivers and onto the PS. Celek was not healthy and Dwelley had shown a low ceiling. Smith would have been on the active at some point in the season. Oh well...

Not at all.

We have Kittle.

The backup needs to be a solid blocker and fill in the pass game. Smith was very average to below in blocking. He goes to a team with no TE so he shines. He's way more valuable to them then he would have been to us.

Hated the pick and I think I was right on this one.
