He is not coming back. I am sure he love to, but he also wants to start and he is going to get a big contract from other teams.

Solomon Thomas was also there last night wearing a McCaffrey jersey. He's also a free agent. But still, two former players who are technically still on other teams coming out to support the Niners like that... rarely something I've seen.

Shame this is not talked about more.
Maybe it's normal across the league and if it is, it's a shame it's not a bigger deal

Solly is just doing everything to stay in the NFL. He might be out of the league anytime.

Maybe he might be a better coach than a player. I wonder if Kyle might take a flyer on him and put him under Kocurek if Solomon decides to coach after Retirment .

I don't watch the Jets, but Thomas did have 5 sacks for them this year. No clue about his pressure rate however.

Thomas played less than half the defensive snaps this past season. Listed at 256 pounds, he wouldn't fit at DT on the 49ers.

Why would we pay that much money for a guy that wouldn't start?

Yep, LB is a pretty easy position to fill overall. He was paid $5,000,000 by Tennessee last season. That puts him in the top 15% of all LBs by salary but not quite there in terms of his overall position ranking according to PFF.

Nice player. Excellent depth on the 49ers but will get paid more than the 49ers can afford to pay him given other priorities coming up.

He had a solid year for them as well, set the franchise record for tackles. Up and down year in pass coverage though, which I'm sure he will be more steady that going forward.

He should definitely get another pay increase this offseason. Probably a 3-4 year deal worth 6-7 mil a year .

I do recall that one of the big complaints about Azeez, during his days with the 49ers, was his inability to stay healthy. Please correct me if I'm wrong, because this is just a recollection of mine. But I do recall that one of the reasons why he could not crack the starting lineup in SF wasn't just because of the stellar play by Warner and Greenlaw, it was his ability to remain on the field.

I see him coming back . Greenlaw likely wont be healthy until week 14 or 15 if that.

I would love to see him back, but wasn't this guy always hurt?? But I also hope they bring in another LB, I don't wanna see Burks or Flannigan-Fowles back.

He was banged up from time to time, but played thru a lot. He's only 26. Give him at least a 2-year deal.

article said PFF projects a 3 year 20.75 million deal. Seems doable to me unless the Titans wanna offer him a huge deal
