If this team falls short in the playoffs, if they even make it at all, the secondary will be the main factor, if not the right side of the OLine .
Giving up that amount of draft capital for Lance was a stupid move. I would've rather picked Kyle Pitts at 3. McVay said he thought that's what we were going to do when we first made that move.
I have to disagree big time, yes the price was steep, but if Trey turns into who we think he can be, no one will care that we gave up 2 future 1's to get the franchise QB that seems like the perfect fit for Kyle's offense. Trading that much for a Kyle Pitts, or a CB would have been dumb, that's done for a QB, and who's QB if they didn't take Trey? Cause they weren't gonna get up to 3 without giving up 2 1's & a 3rd, and the 49ers need a QB on a rookie deal, they need JG's $25M in 2022(I don't buy he may be back unless he takes a huge pay cut), to get guys like Bosa, Deebo, Aiyuk, etc... extended by not having a QB making $27.5M+ a year cap wise, and keep the guys we signed long term(Warner, Kittle, Trent, Juice, soon to be Deebo, & Bosa).
