A lot of dudes work their ass off, start from the bottom and work their way up the ladder. If she did it that way and earned her stripes, I'm cool with. If got a fast pass to where she is, I have a problem with that.

As a player
While completing her studies at Goshen, Sowers began her American football career playing for the West Michigan Mayhem and the Kansas City Titans in the Women's Football Alliance.[5] While with the Titans, Sowers was a member of the United States women's national American football team that won the 2013 IFAF Women's World Championship.[6][7] Sowers continued to play in the WFA until her 2016 retirement due to a hip injury.[8]
As a coach
Sowers joined the National Football League as a wide receiver's intern with the Atlanta Falcons in summer 2016. After her summer position ended, Sowers remained with the Falcons as an intern scout until she moved to the San Francisco 49ers in June 2017 when she was hired due to the 'Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship' program to get more minorities into NFL coaching positions.[9] With the 49ers, Sowers resumed working as a seasonal offensive assistant until her promotion to offensive assistant in 2019.[4] In her first season as the 49ers coach, the 49ers won the NFC Championship sending the 49ers to Super Bowl LIV, allowing her to become the first female and first openly gay coach to coach in a Super Bowl.[10]

She's earned the opportunity to be where she is. She's got the on-field experience where she was a WINNER, and now the growth in the coaching realm. She knows the game well, and she can teach the game well. Who the heck wouldn't want that kind of person on their staff?

This. People acting like she was hired on a Monday and Tuesday morning she walked into the team offices like:
She started off as a real low level assistant in 2016 and has been slowly working her way up. If Shanahan sees value in having her on his coaching staff, that should be all that is necessary for fans to support her too. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to keep a coach around just for s**ts and giggles. I haven't heard a single complaint about her from any player, either with Atlanta or here with the 49ers so I'm going to assume that based on her assigned role, she must be doing be a good job.

It's a stupid idea just for the sake of diversity. There I said it. And get female workers the heck out of an all male prison. What has happened to common sense
This is pretty much as dumb a hot take I have seen this week.
that is saying alot considering most of my posts in the last couple of years. 88, you are not stupid but your post is really stupid and bad

Pretty much this. She has a great resume so not sure what the issue is, besides that she's a woman. I mean look at BBs son, hes a coach on the Pat's now, and he looks like he cant even play high school football.
Edit
And he hasn't, he played lacrosse lol.

Point is, there are dozens of people in the NFL coaching who don't have her resume, or even close to it.

Yeah, Pat's havent done as well recently. It could be the coach then it could be Brady is on his last legs. They havent been able to replace Gronkowski, and that should worry them a lot.Originally posted by Hysterikal:Originally posted by TheGore49er:Originally posted by babarvaart:some folk are very insecure about themselves if they're crying over a women being on the coaching staff.
