Too many of the comments are absurd here. Had Kyle hired some random Joe to be an offensive assistant, the assumption would be that this guy earned their way there. But Katie Sowers, nah.."its gotta be a publicity stunt."

I don't know the reason but being an offensive assistant for 4 years and there is no real room for upward movement on this staff until we start losing some guys seems logical.

Katies fate was sealed in September when her sister dissed Kyle and the 49ers online. "While that would normally not be anything to raise concern, according to Liz, her sister was the only full-time coach who was not given a seat in first class. " This is when her sister felt the 49ers dissrespected her sister for being a girl. This is crazy because I looke on the org chart and she was way on the bottom, so not being in first class should be no surprise.

I think Katie and Kyle both knew when that went public that nothing would be said about the incident, but the team and her would part ways in the off season. Katie has herself to blame for confiding in her sister, and her sister should have not aired grievances in public.

Now if Katie asked Kyle for a minute, told him in private she felt disrespected, he would have respected her.

I'm sure she's an outstanding coach. But the sister airing out team business definitely ended this relationship. Not sure why she wasn't sitting in 1st class to begin with, but that could just be a simple error that she could've easily been handled. She is not wrong for confiding in her sister that's what family should do, but her sis was wrong for airing out the business.

Yup. The niners respected her enough to hire her and making her the first female coach in nfl history. Im sure they would have understood if she went to them to discussed how she felt. I wish her the best where ever she goes but I hoped she learned her lesson. She put the organization in a needlessly uncomfortable situation that could gave easily been resolved internally.
