Football is an alpha male franchise run by egotistical wealthy men and coached by men that for the most part played the sport at some level in their lives.
It's not realistic for a person who didn't actually play the sport and that suffered through the physical pain as well as the mental pain of competing against other men that you had to maintain their level, even if you weren't at that level.
Playing a sport for years when every next play or practice could end your life as you know it or even end your life.

The alpha male men that this sport is built on, will never accept or respect a woman coaching them that didn't play at their level. Sure, women play in football leagues and there are some amazing athletes, but unfortunately it's still the day in age where when it comes to men vs women, there are Ray Rice's in the league that will KO his own lady and drag her by her arm through a public hallway

Just my opinion, but I don't see that day coming very soon.

Good.

Women have no business being in a Man's league. Sorry. I've learned when people like the guy above complain about this stuff it's more about patting themselves on the back for being "woke" and bragging about it. Forced Diversity is man made and useless outside that sh-thole they call California.

I'd stop watching if Women starting playing or taking over head coaching jobs. Start their own league if they want the opportunities. I see no purpose whatsoever with putting women everywhere on the field other than to stroke your own ego. Putting them in small roles like being an assistant or a referee is fine. Trying to put them on the field as kickers or head coaching jobs makes no sense.

Equal opportunity, not equal outcome.

Someone get this guy a time machine so he can go back to the 1800s.

Oh man this thread gonna be derailed in a few weeks.

Disagree with both of you. Very few head coaches were top players in the NFL. "The alpha male that this sport is built on, will never accept or respect a woman coaching them who didn't play at their level." Oh really? So, how do they work up respect for Bill Walsh, Kyle Shanahan, Bill Belichick, none of whom played in the NFL and none of whom played remotely at the top level?

It may be difficult for various reasons for women to play in the NFL. But there is no reason why they can't succeed in coaching and if they do, why they can't progress to be the Head Coach. Attitudes to women have undergone huge changes in the last couple of decades and change is surely likely to continue.

As for comments like "Women have no business being in a Man's league", "I'd stop watching if Women starting playing or taking over head coaching jobs" and "Football is an alpha male franchise run by egotistical wealthy men" well, SMDH. People might like to check how many franchises are or have been owned by women. And that is excluding Denise DeBartolo, for the sake of argument. But if people are prepared to say that they would stop watching the game if a woman takes over a Head Coaching job, that is just misogyny. Why, if she can can a franchise successfully? Just simple prejudice.

Luckily for you, when that time comes you can move to some beautiful middle eastern countries where they share the exact sentiments against women as you do.
There are so few women in the coaching ranks that the chances that one of them will be a HC are very slim. Too many other coaches with way more experience. If it ever gets to the point where there are 2 or 3 female coaches on every team, then the chances increase but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Your just going off your own feelings. A Women you described in your post doesn't exist, so that destroys your whole argument. No women has played professional football. Hiring them at this point is purely just a selfish thing, where people will do it so they can pat themselves on the back and brag about it to the world. What the f-ck will a woman with no professional football experience possible do to coach professional football players? Especially as a head coach? Until the woman in your posts actually exists, then your whole argument is moot. Kate Sowers ceiling will always be an assistant and nothing more.

Prejudice or not, sometimes the truth hurts.

I take a different tack. I think it will evolve the way the WWE has evolved. A division for men and a division for women. I think that makes the most sense. You have that in basketball, soccer, you have that (in a sense) in track and field. Until women and men are physically equally capable, that (to me) makes the most sense.

I think Katie has talked about being head of a womens league but once again you have a problem of numbers. There just aren't that many women who want to plat a sport that rough. Maybe they do it as a flag league but there still are very few that play at the lower levels. I look at women's college basketball and see huge routs all the time because there are enough really good players for about 8-10 teams. It's always the same teams every year. Women's bodies aren't built for the kind of contact you have in football. Even in flag football you have to block and lot's of injuries happen during blocking. I think once again it's a numbers game.

You're not unique in your opinion, relax guy. I've found that most people that feel as strongly as you do about women and men, specifically, the men who hate women, typically struggle in their relationships with women if they're able to establish one at all. Usually as a result of them being undesirable to the opposite sex... it causes a hatred of them.

But I digress, I personally don't care. If our organization saw fit to hire her I'm cool with it. If she goes on to become a head coach it won't be because #respectwomen, it'll be because she earned it. But no worries buddy, this is still an old boys club as far as NFL owners go, she will never get a shot as a coach, you can calm down.

I think you guys are confusing point of view and social acceptance from a small group of people (professional football players).

I'm not saying women are not equal, I'm just saying in this day in age, I don't believe a group of alpha males would accept a woman as their head coach and I especially don't see owners like Jerry Jones hiring women to coach their franchises. Is that social right or acceptable, no, but it doesn't change that fact.

I'm not saying women should be stripped and chained to the kitchen and laundry room serving their men and being obedient with their mouths shut taking their orders.......what are we cave men??

I'm just saying that there's still too many rich, male chauvinist pigs running this sport for that to happen anytime soon, that's it.
Let's keep this conversation about Sowers and stay away from personal attacks. Right now, the conversation is heading toward some business for .

Thank you.
