Few would complain if speights or Beathard got cut. Same would go.for Luck if he sucked. He has no obligation to the fans.

Retiring 2 weeks before the year is not a part of sports. That's a new thing like skipping bowl games.

could be a blessing in disguise for the Colts regardless.

The 2020 draft has some pretty talented qbs.

SMH. Maybe the pre seasons brought it home to him that the injuries were finishing his career. Maybe he didn't want to spend another season on I/r and take money he couldn't earn. Amazing how people want to put a snippy interpretation on a personal tragedy.

His health, family >>>> a game.

If he didnt have these injuries, and now a new undiagnosable injury, i would understand. But hes retiring bc of pain and injuries. Timing is bad, buts its not like he knew this calf injury was gonna happen.

And we are talking like he deserted his troops during a war. Its so silly how upset people get over something that has no impact on life.

It's a career. When you make 25 million dollars in a 11 billion dollar industry the it's just a game line doesn't hold up.

The same applies to careers. Some wear on you and become bad for your health, you should always look out for yourself and get out if it is not worthwhile.

Some people are miserable wasting their life working a job they don't love, even with good pay.

Some stay miserable to try and appease others .

Luck decided to not do it .

It seems fair to me. If teams can cut players at any time, why should we judge players for retiring on their own schedule?

In Luck's case the team could cut him but not after costing the franchise a huge hit in dead cap space and handing Luck some more of that guaranteed cash. So should Luck be held to a higher standard then? He gets more perks.

Either way if It's a business to owners and players it can be a business to fans. Point being don't take the boos personal.

Gronkowski was answering a question yesterday about a potential comeback. He didn't totally rule it out, however, he did say that for the past 4 years the toil of constantly just trying to get his body ready to play another game had taken all the love out of the game. His list of injuries is a long one. Luck's was getting long as well.

Unless a guy has been a complete fool with his money, guys like Luck and Gronk will have invested their millions well. No need to stay in a situation that is dragging down your mind. Another young guy comes along and takes their place. The team plays on and two years later no one remembers them. That is the reality of it.

Patriots had to wrap him in a cast head to toes every week so he can play lol. Not shocked at all when Gronk retired. This was shocking, but its the timing of it. But i definitely understand.
