They also traded for Carlos Hyde and a CB from the Pats.
Too bad Texans didn't need a backup Qb or DL help. Wish we could have done some fleecing.

I had actually heard John McClain this morning, saying Clowney wanted to go to the Eagles to play in their wide 9. Made me perk up and wonder if we might be a potential interest too. Seeing this trade, I kinda wish we'd made a phone call. A 3rd and 2 LB's that were potential cuts anyway, I'm sure we could have come up with something. Bosa and Clowney at DE, and Dee Ford at Sam. Could have moved on from Arik Armstead and his 9mil easily, then.

Not sure how the Texans didn't fleece Seattle for more, then again it's kind of a risk.

Would tooooooo much money spent on the D-line. They still need to pony up for Buckner and maybe even Armstead too.

That's why I said we could move on from Armstead. Clowney would be just as good against the run, and provide more pass rush. 16 million vs 9 million, would be worth the difference to me.

Houston didn't really have a much of a choice, Clowney didn't help them in moving him but he certainly helped Seattle. Of course, an NFCW challenger.

Tbh i understood the Clowney move. The second move for a LT mortgaging you're entire future is why coaches should never be GM. That's a crazy move imo

Exactly. We have got to find a way to trade with the Texans. Get good players for cheap (Clowney) and trade players for a ransom (Tunsil)? Sounds good to me. I wish they could be sold on AA. I'd gladly take Seattle's 3rd.

Repeating what I said above: Clowney has 29 sacks in 62 career games. Dee Ford has 30.5 sacks in 67 career games.
Well repeating what others said, Clowney has never lived up to his potential and has never gotten over 10 sacks.
You mentioning fords sacks compared to clowneys is misguided at best because bc he has been injured two years (and wasn't a starter year one whereas Clowney was a starter). Especially since Ford was arguably the best pass rusher last year at creating turnovers as well as having the quickest first step in football.Again Clowney has never been able to get over 10 sacks Ford has done this twice. You mentioned their first round pick that was supposed to go in the second round or third round as having Huge upside? Seems like you are reaching here
Almost replied to this until I realized it's arguably the most delusional user on this board. I know you are literally incapable of saying anything positive about Seattle.
Haha. Couldn't agree more.
Check out Clowney's TFL's. Its not all about the sacks. Seattle were leaky against the run last season.

What kind of s**t is this?!?
NFL needs to step in and reject this trade. Ridiculous trade.

Not saying Clowney is a bad player but he's not an "All-World" type player that he was drafted to be, was my point. It's overhyped.
