Not saying Clowney is a bad player but he's not an "All-World" type player that he was drafted to be, was my point. It's overhyped.

Plus duke magically didn't acknowledge that ford wasn't a starter his first year in kc and was injured 10 games bc of a back injury. Ford is a way better pass rusher with arguably the fastest first step coming off a season with 13 sacks AND leading the nfl in turnovers among d lineman. Oh yeah he also led the LEAGUE in pressures. Clowney has never got over 9 sacks!!!!! That is not good any way you look at it. A great run defender.

So easy to destroy his arguments. Delusional posts that are way out of context. I expected nothing less but come on man, we aren't hawks fans, we actually know about players and the nfl

Huh? You mean right not righteous. You incite and insult people who are against your precious Seahawks. Not only should you be banished to Seahawks land but out of here. You expect to come to another teams forum and have the audacity to incite many members. Also your posts have been laughed at especially in Niner talk. It amazing that you haven't been banned permanently and I'm right when it comes to these easy arguments made against you and fellow Seahawks fans bc to be honest, they don't know football for the most part compared to other teams fans. Again, I'm not surprised you don't know this already. Stick to the rules buddy and stop whining. Don't address me again and if you don't like what I say according to the rules just block my posts.

Seriously??? Dude, the Texans were very patient with the guy and treated him with kid gloves. They even traded him to the team HE WANTED.

Furthermore, if Clowney is the guy that helps the Seahawks beat the 49ers... then the 49ers have now business wining the game period. Clowney has never shown up for the big ones. The guy may have impressive stats, but those stats rarely came when it mattered. Clowney is that "ace" pitcher that racks up wins on the sub .500's and gets completely wreaked in the playoffs.

Very true and never had more than 9 sacks WITH a great supporting cast. Very good player but I would rather have Clark

He's been living off the reputation he built in his soph year of college. He has talent but doesn't always show it. Maybe he won't be so lazy in Seattle but hes' been lagging for a few years now.

2018
Ford: 13 sacks 7 ff
Clowny: 9 sacks 1 ff
Ford is a better pass rusher but I think that it's closer than people want to admit. I think Clowney is probably overall -- including all facets of the game, i.e. run-stopping -- a better overall player.

I'm not trying to paint Clowney has a Donald/Mack-caliber talent, I'm just saying that the people downplaying this are probably the same ones slurping Lynch for getting Ford. I liked the Ford acquisition for SF, and I also like the Clowney acquisition for SEA.

Seriously just quit while you're behind. Watch the personal attack or you will be on a much deserved time out. Follow the rules. Attack the post not the poster. You have some nerve. Back to talking about Clowney if that's not too much for you to handle.

Very true. Imo it's a downgrade to Clark

Nice post. I agree. Recently Ford imo is arguably the best pure pass rusher by last seasons standards. Most pressures most turnovers and 13 sacks. I would rather be a little worse against the run in a passing league then have a worse pass rusher that's better defending the run.

Clowney spent many seasons as a 3-4 defensive end so that's why he has a low career sack total. 9-10 sacks is what he does when properly used. It's a decent move if he stays healthy.
