You must of hated Justin Smith who never had double digit as an end, tackle or lb.

Ya it's just irrational hate bc hes in Sea now.

More like irrational praise for a player that has never come close to his draft position as well as hype with an awesome D surrounding him. JJ watt much. Again I think a few people hate the Niners or like Seattle a little too much to admit what reality is. Nobody here is saying he's a bad player he's actually a very good player but he just is not great.

Maybe im mistaken, but did anyone say he was great? Hes a good player. And to your previous post, he doesnt get payed like a franchise player, that would be a mistake to pay him like that. But Sea got an impact player for basically nothing. He might not be great, but this was a great trade.

I agree it was a great trade and a lot of people are saying he's a great player I just disagree with that part. If they decide to keep him past this year, he already said he's looking to be paid like Mack and Donald type money so yes he is going to be paid like a franchise player. That's why he didn't resign with Houston. I also think this year he's going to get over nine sacks because of the poor line play in the division

No but he was never the first pick in the draft and he was never paid like a franchise player. Nice try though

He was the 4th pick in the draft and I think we made him the highest paid end in 08 but not sure.

smith was never expected to be a double digit sack guy like clowney was. Clowney was expected to dominate from day 1, theyre completely different players

According to who? We spent a high draft pick on a player that was a pass rusher. Of course you expect double digit sacks, or very close to i, when you draft a pass rusher.

Fact that you are actually comparing the two tells me you spend more time on ESPN stat sheets then watching teams other than the 49ers....

Why would you bring up that stat if you don't think it has any significance?
They've been without Ansah and Jarran Reed but yeah so far he hasn't been much.

Clowney played with two to three very good players on the field... all doing his job while HE was trying to do his job. You can't pay attention to Watt, Merciless, and McKinney, without leaving someone open for an easy sack/tackle.

But hey, what do I know, It's not like I haven't attended 90 percent of the home games for the past five years.... It's not like I don't have a bunch of friends that have the Texans as their first team...

But hey, if being right is more important than being correct... fine.

edit:
Seems like he's really knocking it out of the park this season too. So both my observations and the statistics seem to be congruent.

Was implying that stats are often misleading to a players impact he has.
