It is worth noting that Dan Brunskill has the No. 12 pass-blocking PFF grade among NFL tackles after 6 games (81.0), while McGlinchey is ranked No. 46 (69.7). Just one metric, and the sample size isn't huge, but having too many capable pass-blocking tackles is never a problem. https://t.co/F5hl0oeSUq

Looked him up. He's a former TE. Athletic for a tackle. Undrafted, but was on the road to becoming a backup journeyman type tackle.
More development time and he can be a starter. I would try him at LT at some point.

Pretty clear we already have the LT of the future on the roster. Both Skule and Brunskill are performing at very high levels.

Great to see I do think Kyle was dialing up quick pass plays to help with pass-blocking over the course of the past couple weeks.
Both backup tackles are improving and I'm glad we got them some snaps, didn't lose, but I'm happy to have the starters back
both guys have a future here in SF which is great. depth at OT is huge.

Yep, he is, so are Staley and Skule.
TEs are often good to transition to a ZBS that wants quickness and agility that is not possible with a big bulldozer-type. Kyle knows what works and they picked up two quality backups, if not future starters, at a time other teams were looking for camp fodder.

I expect Brunskill to be the starter at RG at this time next year.

Totally...fastest release, least number of passing attempts, quick-hitting schemes, etc. all play a big part BUT, in AZ, Kyle felt comfortable enough to turn the passing game loose much more and they more than held their own. That's a great sign for the young dual.

I forgot the 49ers had a Right Tackle.
Kidding aside, Brunskill is probably one of the top surprising players for me, the other one for me is Emmanuel Mosley.

Good call!
