Dan Brunskill - OG signs with the Titans

Brunskill is one of a number of ERFAs, meaning we are able to hang onto these guys if we give them offers. We have exclusive rights with Brunskill, Moseley, Dwelley, Mullens, and Jeff Wilson. This puts us in awesome position to retain our most valuable depth pieces.

McG looks 35. They ain't no good if they don't look old at RT.

This will now be known as "Right Tackle" Face: Old and Ugly.
The opposite of "Quarterback Face" that made Colin Cowherd over Jimmy G

Yeah. Exactly. Nothing.

Good lord, I just realized he looks just like Jim Burt.

dont know how old he is but he looks over 60 in that pic lol

I don't see Jim Burt. He looks a lot like Staley to me without Staley's messed up nose.

I despised Jim Burt so much for basically destroying Montana in that one playoff loss to the Giants. And then he joined our team.

He was the original Uncle Sherm

If ever there was a hated enemy, that turned into a loved Niner player, it was Jim Burt for me on a Niner Championship title run.

Don't know what had went wrong for Burt in NY, did they disrespected him by not paying what he was worth to let him walk ...? I don't know. I remember someone asked him after his time with the Niners, which team he belonged to, he said he will always bleed Red&Gold

He did a heck of a job while holding down the fort.
Starting to wonder if they might actually keep him active over Garland when MM and Staley return. Brunskill has played pretty well, and he can play every spot on the line. Garland can only play the interior.

Glad to see people beginning to recognize that the play Brunskill has provided in 2019 is at or superior to what McGlinchey provided in his time this year.

Very close. Good problem to have.

Skule and Brunskill did a great job as backups filling in admirably. Kyle did a great job in drawing up plays to protect them and keep from leaving them on an island too often. Toilolo is a dude that doesn't get nearly enough credit. He's been playing like a third tackle pretty much while Staley and McGrinchey have been out. He was helping both Skule and Brunskill out considerably.

Now the big boys are back for real and its time to take the gloves off.

McGlinchey was our lowest rated OL when he left. It's very clear Brunskill is equally as talented.

No its not clear at all. Brunskill did fine as a backup tackle that received a lot of help. Go look at how much 12 personnel the 49ers have run with Staley and McGrinchey out compared to how much they were running before. Look how often Toilolo(the third tackle) was next to him. Shanahan changed up his playcalling to protect his backup tackles like a smart playcaller should. They certainly proved that they are solid depth but nobody in that building is questioning whether or not McGrinchey should be the starter.

As far as the rating thing, that was based on a small sample size where McGrinchey had to go up against Shaq Barrett, TJ Watt, Myles Garrett...etc. We saw what he is capable of as a starter last year and especially what a monster he is in the run game. I think you'll see the 49ers go back to more of their bread and butter on offense with more 21 personnel as well as a full playbook when it comes to passing plays.

Truth

And then the big boys return, KS now has more options w/Toilolo to confuse OC's and help the running game.

Someone who knows football. Exactly.

Brunskill balled out but McGlinch is a stud & is the more talented player. Brunskill could potentially be the RT of the future. Really great to see him fill in so nicely.
