With Jaylon Moore hurt, it might be time to move him to RT, a more natural position and try Banks at RG.

OMG please install and leave Brunskill at RT, I'm tired of seeing Compton on the field period.

At San Diego State Aztecs his most natural position was tackle. All the way back to College. He played at Valley Center High School. At times a very good football program. Also San Diego.

That's where he gets criticism. He's playing out of position for a need. But he's versatile enough to do it.

He's not a big bulldozer guard. But he has great feet, technique, takes great angles and is a very good pass blocker at tackle. He's a very good player IMO. If used right.

I'd put Jaylon Moore at RT in 2022, I'd redo McGlinchey's deal, as it's fully GTD, lower his $10.88M salary to $1.035M, saved $7.876M, it would leave a $5.907M dead money hit in 2023, but Moore looked way better at RT IMO, if he can't go, I'd start Brunskill, but who starts at RG? They just refuse to give Banks a chance, would Compton be better off inside at RG?

Aaron Donald has a lot of power, but he's still what 6'1 285?

Most of the guys Brunskill have to block are much bigger than him.

Agreed!

Also Donald is a pressure player, so essentially Brunskill plays him like a tackle from the guard position. We've seen D-Bruns fill in for Staley against the leagues best outside guys and hold his own. However against a player Clark or even in practice against DJ Jones, he gets blown up by straight power and size with quickness.

Yep, Brunskill is Donald's kryptonite. DB has the footwork to neutralize Donald's quickness and compete on a strength basis. It must frustrate Donald to dominate bigger, slower players yet get totally stymied by Brunskill...and this is not the first game that has happened.

Shanahan has a decision to make against the Jags if Moore can't go. Compton clearly isn't the answer outside. Brunskill is the logical choice but he hasn't been practicing at RT to my knowledge. With Banks still not ready, what do you do?
He still owns Aaron Donald.
Dude had himself a game.

Very good post AB!
If Aaron Donald is the best interior D linemen ever or at least one of the best and we play him twice a year. Is Brunskill one of the best pick ups in 49ers history?

Even if we get banks going do we keep him and play him in every rams game?

Agree. I'm not comfortable giving that much money to McGlinchey when Compton is giving similar performance for much less. I'm hoping both Banks and Moore develop to where they can challenge for a starter position on the OLine squad.

I'm really hoping Banks can also try out for center. I know he's more suited at guard or tackle, but I like his quickness and agility for the center position.
Need another one his out of this world vs Donald performances Sunday
