I'm starting to wonder if the Shanahan RB magic can apply to OTs. It's too small of a sample size so far but it's promising.

As we discussed earlier in this thread, Shanahan knows the type of athletes and their skill sets that will work in his system. Consequently, it is no accident that he brought in two rookies with good agility and footwork, as witnessed by the fact they are former TEs in college. Just looking at both Skule and Brunskill move around in their sets shows basic ability that is hard to teach.

Agree

An add plus is that we have 2 guys to further develop for the future!

It sure would make the draft interesting. I mean, you remember how they see the draft -- any player they take has to be good enough to beat out the person in front of them. If they feel strongly about Skule, Brunskill, and Coleman competing as backups, they may not take a tackle at all.

Shon Coleman is in contract year. But indeed, some upgrade attempt at Guard would be most welcome. I hope Brunskill will be tried out as guard later in the season.
We'll definitely take an O-lineman(s) in the draft, but Brunskill and Skule make it so it's a "luxury" pick.

Man, if we had a WR1...

With Shanahan able to manage with late round picks and undrafted rookies I wouldn't doubt if they waited till the 3rd to select O-line. Would love Tee Higgins or Laviska Shenault at the end of the 1st round.

Don't need one. Just need the receivers to catch the ball more consistently.

Dumbest thing this team could do is go all JJ Stokes this next draft and trade away future picks.

Go Buffs! Shenault and Kittle would be awesome!

I agree, but we don't already have Rice on the roster. I would absolutely be interested in acquiring a WR1, either by draft or trade. Nothing I've seen from any of our WRs gives me confidence they can become WRs that threaten other teams' defenses.

Agreed, the most important thing we have now is draft picks! The only way to stay competitive is by supplementing players we can afford with cheap draft picks.

Exactly.

Not his man, not his fault

The thing is when I saw Brunskill play in preseason. Even though I think he was playing guard, the man was mauling on run plays

I am glad he is doing good in pass pro though

Brunskill is very athletic and is going to be a starter for this team in the near future.

Yep. Either guy but Shanahan might lust for Shenault's versatility as a runner and Wildcat QB.

No arguments from me.

Very interested to see his growth in the upcoming games.

I'll also have a lot more confidence if he and/or Skule have to come off the bench,
