I'm going to cry if the Saints beat the 49ers and go deep into the playoffs next year with Sanders.

I'm pretty sure if that happens, it will not be because of Sanders. He may contribute but he will only be a #2 in that offense, if he stays healthy.

Lynch didn't let him go because he didn't like him. He let him go for cap reasons and the #13 pick.

Between the targets that Michael Thomas, Kamara, and Cook get in the passing game, I think his numbers may not be what he thinks they will be.

Yep, only time will tell but I can already forecast that guys like Spoon and Sherman will have problems covering Sanders one on one. More notably, what I like about the Saints is that, like the Pats and Seahaks, they got burned by Sanders during the regular season, saw him as a player who could help their offense and therefore when he became available in the off-season they immediately went after him and signed him. Seems like the experienced HC/GMs like BB, Carroll and Payton are more aggressive in that way - they're generally more pro-active in going after players and making it happen. I think Lynch needs to be more pro-active/aggressive in going after FA players and closing the deal. So far they've whiffed on a couple of FA signings.

Contenders gamble at the deadline for a shot to win it all. See the Pats and trading a pick for Sanu. (They gave up a 2)

Yep, a perfect example of what I am referring to. Seattle bringing in guys like Revis, Gordon and Graham and NE with Moss, Gordon and now Sanu are great examples of those contenders getting after it. They don't sit on their hands and watch FA go by no matter how good their teams are.

Sanders clearly went there because they offered him the most, just happened to be a contending team. I don't think it has anything to do with targets

Not sure if that is a good thing or not for the Pats. He has been a disappointment for them. If he wasn't under contract for another year I think they may have let him go. His cap hit for 2020 6.5 Million and hasn't really done much for them. And this is a team that has no cap at all to work with. They might love to have that extra 6.5 Million. Last season in 8 games with the Pats he had 26 catches for 207 yards and 1 TD. And the 7 games with the Falcons prior to the trade wasn't much better. 33 catches for 313 yards and 1 TD.

Now he had offseason ankle surgery and maybe that will help. For the Pats sake they better hope so. But if he was a UFA would you want the Niners to sign him at a 6.5 Million cap hit after the season he just had? And he turns 31 soon. I wonder if Pats would have gone further if they traded for Sanders instead.

When you are a WR and are 33 years old you have to go for the highest payer. Not many years left for him and I wish him the best of luck

He got the big cold shoulder from 49ers management. I wonder why?
