Show me where I said he was the ONLY disappointment? However, Pettis has been the BIGGEST disappointment, that's for sure. In fact, I dare say that if Pettis - and Pettis alone - displayed half the commitment, focus, and consistency Shanny has needed from him this trade never happens.

Imo. Pettis is doing EXACTLY what I thought he would. He gets open ALOT but doesn't have the targets to show for it. Even the INT Sunday he toasted his man. Yes he shod have tied to break the ball up but from his perspective he's looking at the ball knowing his man is beat. He doesn't know the S is even coming.

What we need is someone who can get him the ball. Cause dude is always open.
Seriously, this is Jimmy G's fault? Pettis is showing me EXACTLY what I thought he would be coming out of Washington, and why on draft night I was upset we traded up in the 2nd to get him. Lacks physicality and toughness. And we've learned that he can't spend the focus necessary to be a consistent NFL WR. Sure he gets open - late!!! That's why Shanny has to scheme him open. Defenses know to be physical with him to throw off the timing. By the time he get's himself open Jimmy has already had to look elsewhere. And judging by his current physique it's clear that Pettis isn't a fan of getting in the gym to get stronger so he can get himself open sooner. There's a reason that Jimmy G trusts Deebo more than him. It's why when Deebo isn't on the field Jimmy G will force the ball to Kittle.

Shanny has given Pettis every opportunity to be the #1 WR but he's failed to be that for the reasons stated above. So, you are totally wrong to blame Jimmy G for Pettis' shortcomings.
Emmanuel is going to be a great mentor Deebo and Pettis as well. Show them how the WR position is supposed to be played

Unless there is an injury... this likely means that at least one of Taylor + Hurd will not be coming back this season. Can't see them cutting a WR (they will cut Matthews for Sanders). They'd have to IR a WR. And need the depth at other positions on the 53.

I'm thinkin Sanu just being honest

Jordan Matthews

Who else. Matthews was on the practice squad. They only have 5 wide receivers active on game day. Trading Goodwin would make sense if they have any thought of keeping Sanders after this year. I doubt they would trade Deebo or Pettis since they're so young unless some team gives them a great offer.

VERY good call!

Goodwin - too many drops and concussion concerns.

Or none of our receivers have stepped up all season, and this is a move to help us get over that hurdle

I think Sanu might be a bit happier.

Quise was a weak link and now the odd man out... he is a good dude will miss him

Sad to say, but this.

He's been through a ton off the field and it makes you want to cheer for him, but he leaves you wanting more as a WR. At 28yo he is who he is and he won't suddenly become useful after all these years in the league. He's a track star playing WR, but we don't even take a bunch of shots with him because it's too risky. If you're a one trick pony, you need to at least be great at that trick. Look at Philip Dorsett.

Then what happens to Kittle in the middle when Quise isnt forcing Safeties to respect the deep pass?

Allot of those underneath crossing routes are open because of Goodwin, whether he makes the play or not teams know that if they dont respect his speed Kyle is gonna see it and get the ball to him. Cant remember whether it was JohnnyDel or THL but they recently showed how MG is still making big contributions to this offense even when the ball isnt in his hands.

Hurd. Broken back+rookie with one year playing WR in college=Heal up, train up, get ready to bring it in 2020.

First we pay slightly more than a 3rd, then we go deep in the playoffs or win the SB, and then free agents will all want to jump on board the ShannyLynch train for no draft picks at all.

We won't have that much to spend on free agents after signing some of our guys next year. You always have to overpay for free agents and that's how you get in salary cap hell.

Lol, Matthews is not eligible for PS, he's on the 53
I hope Emmanuel Sanders can coach up Pettis. Teach him to not be soft.

It worked when Richard Sherman mentored Witherspoon for a while.

I'm guessing Sanu is pretty happy too. He's going to a team with a QB that practically hands them the ball.
